I have, unfortunately, been on the receiving end of news that a close friend has took their own life as they felt that was the best way for their depression to end and it is a absolutely gut-wrenching feeling. The feeling of knowing someone was hurting and the fact that you were unable to convey to them that their life is important and they have a lot to live for, and you end up unsuccessful in the attempt to show them the way out of depression haunts me every single day. Never give up the fight to help someone with depression; you can be amazed at the way negative thinking will make you feel. The mind can make you go from happy, to depressed in the blink of an eye.
Never take the situation of depression lightly, Always do your best to help people see their way through
