At an early age, I was introduced to Christianity. All my life I’ve been raised up in a church. My great grandmother, Irene Davenport, whom is around the age of 89, she took me to church every Sunday. For years I was presented to the idea of being saved/baptised. I desired that connection, I wanted that more than anything. Couple of years past and I slowly started drifting away from my church until I just stopped going altogether. Things were getting tough, like my parents fighting, speaking of divorce. To me, that ripped me from edge to edge. Our family was getting even more distant everyday. I was literally watching my whole life fall apart right before my eyes and all I could do was watch and not do anything to fix it all. My brother and I had to suffer from listening to all of their nonsense. I thought “why me?”. I was so angry with the way my life was being placed.

Emma has always been my go to person. She’s so sweet and down to earth. She’s the most caring person you could ever meet. We’ve known each other since 8u softball and she’s always been my inspiration to keep moving forward. I went to her church on that Wednesday and I really enjoyed the way they did things, like the layout/format. I started going more and more until I started going every Wednesday. I got really close with three specific youth leaders. I went for about a year and then they were having a summer youth camp in Panama. I decided to go and that’s when everything changed. Everyday was filled with laughter and fun while worshipping the lord. I was having a great time for the first time in a long time. We played on the beach, volleyball, basketball, went to the pool, and went to Shipwreck Island

My worldview closely resembles the Biblical Worldview described in the Charry text, but by no means is anywhere near where it could be. My Christian character will continue to develop and mature throughout my life as I continue to study the scriptures, commune with God in prayer, continually ask for repentance, and forgiving those who have showed transgressions toward me. L. Gregory Jones states, “Christian living requires a willingness to inquire after the God of Jesus Christ, an inquiry which shapes us a people of repentance and forgiveness” (Charry, 2000, p. 204). Repentance and forgiveness are two aspects of the Christian walk that I struggle with. There are many times that I get so busy with life that I forget to prayerfully repent…
