Personal Narrative: How A School Has Affected My Life

As an immigrant from a different country, that doesn’t speak English. I didn’t how a school is important comparing to other countries. THis situation affected my life. I had to struggle with everything and wasn’t informed with any school information. I play around all the time and didn’t really care about the school and were one of those that think about the job and a minimum wage to get money. I wasn’t that lucky to have cousins taking care of me, most of my cousins would have to take care of their own business and would just help me by telling me where my classes. I thought they weren’t curious about what I had to do or struggle. So, I noticed that people wouldn’t be always around you and try to take care. This situation made it harder and more challenging. Luckily, I had a teacher named Mr. YOusif he is the one who told me that you can go straight to university and not have to worry about college to have to waste two years. This teacher was my favorite not just to help me but to show in meetings with newcomers student's parents. He would always show how respectful I was and how I helped during night library, I felt proud that I was at the same position that they were but they are lucky enough to get help from a student who had experienced.It's easier for them to learn about what I had to struggle so they will not have to go over the same situation. What I did is to not tell them everything so they can learn more from their mistakes. I feel like I had to step up and get over the struggles and try harder. This experience taught me how I have to be independent and try not to ask for help and solve my own problems because my parents would not be there for my in my entire life, so I think it is better if I figure out and have faith to experience and learn to teach my future children and get a better generation “We learn from our
