Personal Narrative: Homeless Home

My mom had woken the 4 of us kids up and she sounded worried and we didn’t know why. She told us to change and hurry downstairs with a blanket to stay warm. Tabby and I didn’t know what was going on but we knew it wasn’t good. At this time we were living in a homeless shelter on Division St. because my mother was divorcing my father and we had no place to live. We walked down stairs and all of the lights were off, people were using flashlights, and it sounded like running water outside and right below us. That was when the people who ran the shelter had told us that there was flood and that we had to stand outside and wait for people to come help take us to safety since we were surrounded by water on all sides.
