“Helen, I need you over here.” I watched her walk over to me with her concerned face.
“What?”
I watched her pause as she saw my face.
“You have to go don’t you? Back over there?”
She watched my facial expressions change over the course of one minute.
“I got the call.” Her face seemed to darken as I said it. I had to go. There was no way around it.
“Christopher, I hate that saying. I hate this. Your leaving. You are always away.”
Sometimes I’d hated it too, but it's what I need to do for us to stay here.
“When?”
She knew it was sometime too soon.
“I have two days.”
All rules are rules. At least I have more time than last time. I watched Helen walk away. Almost wet from the tears. I sat there waiting. We had been listening to the new

“The United States, France, Great Britain, The Soviet Union, and China, have called many more troops and resources into the base. We have people coming from each place to help with the materials. At least for the next few days, they will be fine, but sometime in between then, we have to get materials to them. In other …show more content…
I knew he loved when I asked about her.
“We’ll always be good. What’s going on with Helen?”
“Same old.” I let out a chuckle as Sergeant told us it was time to board. I got on the plane and suddenly I felt this rush of adrenaline that made me want to go at that moment. “Ready, Andersen? It's go time.”
I smiled and nodded as we headed closer to the end of the runway. Speeding up the closer we got until I lifted and we were in the air. It felt amazing to fly again. I was so nervous because if the drop went wrong, we were done and the axis powers would win. I felt so worried that when we hit hour 8, I felt worse about getting there by 11. At least it was only three more hours.
The rest of the plane ride was simple and fast. We ate some of food and Rhen and I talked a lot and caught up in each other's lives since we hadn’t seen each other much. But when we got the beach landings, it was time, time to do the impossible. I pulled the plane as close as I could get it to the number one spot to land, but when we looked down we realized there were people coming over from the Axis powers. The want for victory showed as they all gathered like barbarians coming to our landing spot. I began the worst worry of my entire

The blue midnight sky was glistening with infinite stars that lay above my slanted head as I watched the twilight moon above me. Glancing down my hand, catching sight of the time gave me the realization that this was actually happening. Months of preparation, years of mental training and the day had come faster than ever. I was 22, they call me Mailto Sonu with a passion of going into the military as a young child, and the curiosity filled in my head of what it would feel like to stand on the rusty, rough, and coarse sand.…
