Michael didn’t always enjoy working at the coffee shop. Costumers could be absolute dicks and pay could be better. One thing he absolutely liked about the job was messing with Ana. Ana was short- topping out at 5’ 3”. His short coworker refused to accept her height, often trying to reach plates or cups in high places. She usually resorted to climbing on counter tops to achieve her goal. Michael- who was at least a head and a half taller than her- would tease her about it and show off by grabbing the mugs on the highest shelf. Ana would always glare at him and say something spiteful, but Michael would just brush it off with a laugh and a wink. One day Ana was attempting got reach the large plates- a job that was usually reserved for Michael. Ana then toppled over with a squeak before Michael caught her, plate and all. …show more content…
She squirmed in his arms to be let down, and Michael obliged- albeit with a grin. “Welcome,” he chirped cheerfully, “Next time let me get the high stuff, shorty.” Ana scowled, flushing a deep red. “It’s not my fault you’re so friggin tall, you giraffe,” Ana grumbled darkly under her breath with a glowering expression on her face. Despite her best attempts not to be heard, Michael bit back a grin at her words. It was fun teasing with his shorter coworker. Michael had harbored a secret crush on her for a long time, but never acted on it. There’s no way he would actually do that. Ana left in a huff, carrying the large plate tightly at her side.
