The team has been building strength and speed. We have had a lot of practices, and my team has had a lot of training to get in the best shape possible. At first, we were losing every game because we were learning to find each other on the ice. Now, we know each other better, and we are passing and creating plays. Tonight, we play Brampton. We have not played them yet this year. We know they have won some games, and they are higher than us in the standings.
The coach says, “We are ready to win.” We tied the last three games, but we want a win.
We arrive an hour early as usual, to warm up and mentally prepare ourselves for the game. Everyone is on time, and the coaches talk to each of us about what they want to see in the game. …show more content…
We gather in a circle, and our captain says, “Thunder on three. One, two, three . . . Thunder!”
We line up to go on the ice. The ice is clean, and the door is open. We run on the ice and fist pump our captain and assistants. We skate around and take shots on our goalie to prepare him for the game too. The whistle blows, and the referee ask us to line up for the handshake with the other team. Coach calls us over for the final words and starting line-up.
We start off a little weak, but the other team didn’t think we were good anyway. They are not trying. We then step up our game. We control the puck in their end for most of the game. They are getting dirty, but we want this game, so we keep going.
We make many shots on their goalie, and are able to put four goals in. They are only able to get one past our goalie, and that makes them even madder. We don’t let each other down, and we work hard together. We are so happy as a team. The coaches are happy too. We know that working together is the best way to win, and we were now able to win, which means we have worked hard to be in the best game shape. We can only get better if we want it.
