It is the final days in the senior week. The school has set up a stage on Foss Hill and invited four alumni bands to come and perform. It is almost like a small-scale version of Spring Fling, and therefore, many Wesleyan students decide to savor this event as it can be their last chance to do drugs with their college buddies. Jin and Xavier, of course, are ones of these students. Xavier manages to get themselves two doses of magic mushrooms, which are in high demand at the time, so he can't guarantee the quality. However, because after graduation, Jin will go back to China, where psychedelics becomes very hard to get, Jin chooses to take it. The dosage turns out to be stronger than both of them expected. Jin goes nuts and starts to take off his clothes. Xavier finds it so funny that he doesn't even try to stop him. Jin saunters his way from WestCo courtyard to Foss Hill, catching more and more students’ attention. Some people whistle, some people laugh, and more hold up their phones to take pictures or videos. After Jin strolls around …show more content…
The urgently assembled board consists of a dean, a professor, and three junior students, one of which is actually a good friend of Xavier and often comes to their house to party. They give each other a look and Jin’s partially relieved. He recounts the story in a deliberately-intensified Chinese accent, and says he got a piece of cookie from a stranger who claimed to be a resident in Middletown. He didn’t even doubt what was in it because the stranger was really friendly. Besides, he would never dream that it was psychedelics, because in China, if he does stuff like that, he would be shot by the police. Jin asks the board to review his record because throughout the past four years, he hasn’t gotten one single point from the SJB, plus he’s gotten a pretty decent academic

The hardest thing I’ve ever went through? Let me take you back to almost three years ago to a very cold Thursday morning in January. I was sitting in history class when suddenly something very strange happened; the announcement speakers came on. To most people it would seem like it was a very typical day to day event to listen to announcements; but at my school announcements were rarely ever said. My classroom got completely silent; to the point where you could have heard a pin drop.…

Growing up I was always the tallest kid in the class. Whenever class picture day rolled around, I knew that I was in the front of the line because of my height. It was somewhat embarrassing when all the boys were shorter than I, and the girls made me feel bad for how out of place I was. Not only did my height provide social awkwardness, it also administered the constant, never ending struggle of finding garments long enough. Whenever my mom or grandmothers wanted to take me back to school shopping, I made excuses of “I don’t need any more habiliments” or “I do not feel good, all of the sudden…”…

I went from being a stress mess to a straight success (maybe not success yet, but soon).…

High school changes people. They express themselves, become opinionated, and they start to look at the world differently as they experience things they have never encountered before. A wise Oliver Wendell Holmes said, “Man’s mind stretched to a new idea never goes back to its original dimensions.” This quote is an excellent way to describe my experience in high school.…
