This dance was the Senior Prom and was the highlight of the year. I had a boyfriend that did not attend my school and we met in early morning Seminary class. However, this year, my boyfriend, Michael Larsen, had made some wrong choices with his employment and was not able to attend the prom. To resolve his wrong choices, Michael was scheduled to work during the same time as the prom. I was devastated when I heard the news and we both agreed that I should still attend the prom with another guy friend from seminary. His excuse was that he forgot that he promised another gal to his prom. My thought is how do you forget that? Whatever, why do guys do that? I was devastated again since, I had made plans with my friends and spent time with my mom making my prom dress. With all this drama happening, I was wondering if I was even going to attend my senior prom. That same day my brother, Gary Hollingshead, just returned from Ricks College for the break and wanted to know of my senior prom plans. Mom shared with him about my date situation and Gary came up with a clever plan. Something to know is that Gary and I have always been the best of friends. He decided to take me to my prom and I accepted. He even rented a tux for the occasion. At dinner, I introduced him as Gary, my college boyfriend, which he was. He is a boy, he is my friend, and he goes to college. No one knew at the dance that my brother stepped in and was my date for my senior prom. We even took senior pictures and everyone thought we were such the cutest couple, as all teenagers think. My brother Gary, knew it was important for me to attend my senior prom and I will always be grateful that he took the time to be a big brother and make this moment a time to remember. This kindhearted act I will always
