Personal Narrative: High School Musical

Decent Essays
My first musical done through my high school, ironically being “High School Musical”, was a meaningful event in my life and has no doubt made an impact on my life. I have made many good friends through the theatre department, and spending everyday with the cast and crew helped me further understand them and how they each think, which will help me become an outstanding citizen on campus because I will be able to help others when in need. Besides the other actors in the show, “High School Musical” solidified my prediction that I wanted to pursue acting as a serious career for my life. Outside of school, I had been a part of a few acting experiences, mainly just a few extra roles in upcoming films, and they were all really fun, however, the way I was able to finally see how an audience would react to my acting enthralled me. Whilst the show was loads of fun, it wasn’t always such a simple, lighthearted extracurricular. It was difficult to find the necessary balance between my academic work and the show, however, after a while, I was able to pull my grades up and focus on both of them, with my main focus being on my grades. This experience helped me realize that I must put all of my effort into everything I do in life in order for my future to be as grandiose as I hope it to be. If I hadn’t put all of my effort into both my schoolwork and the show, my grades would’ve drastically fallen and the show would’ve demolished.

The first Broadway musical I enjoyed was Disney's Beauty and the Beast. I was about thirteen years old. It was more elaborate than the small performances at Disney World. There was more music, elaborate set designs, and more seats in theater. I was very impressed by the singing and actors ability to flow through the material.…

A new journey in my life began on August 13th, 2014 as my school principal cut the red ribbon celebrating the opening of a brand new high school. Little did I know, it would become a journey of growth and unique experiences unlike any before it, further refining and adding to my inner sculpture of identity and talent. I was going to Liberty High School, therefore it was necessary that I adapt--quickly, yet strategically. Throughout my life, I had never imagined that my high school experience would reach and exceed my expectations in the way that it did. I had the unique opportunity most people don’t get in life: to be part of a grassroots movement in establishing a culture that would enrich future students with tradition and values for many years to come.…

Exhilarating: a term making one feel very happy, animated, or elated, would be the perfect word to describe what the day had in store for us eager, and jubilant grade 6 students. A thrilled and luminous smile lit up on my enthusiastic face as I ambled on the same rugged, cracked, gray tinted sidewalk that I had sauntered on everyday for a year. The serene, endless sky was the perfect shade of aqua as the light, silky, radiant clouds formed delicate shapes. The sun was glistening with great luminosity. Suddenly I heard someone screaming my name well not really; it was my nickname, one that really agitated me in an incredibly obnoxious way, “Babikathu wait up”.…
