Improved Essays
The first time I went off a high dive. It was my birthday party. I told my family it felt exhilarating. It was so much fun I did it some more. Every time it was always exhilarating. “I think you were amazing.” Makenna replied.
“I told you she would do it.” Danika exclaimed. “No you did not.” Richie complained.
“Okay, so I thought you would never do it, it’s not that big of a deal.” Danika replied.
It was not that big of a deal, but I did have so much fun doing that. We watched Richie, Danika, and even Shana do the high dive next and then it was my turn again. We took turns going off the high dive. I went last. We all had so much fun. Everybody said I was awesome.
“I wasn’t that great.” I blushed.
“But seriously you were amazing.” Shana

“If you don’t know, go!” I remember my instructors screaming this phrase at me and my fellow trainees over and over during my first lifeguard training, cementing those words into our memory. It was the same phrase going through my head as my body hit the water of the eight-foot deep wave pool I had been staring at for hours that day. My target was a young girl, only about twelve years old. She was floating on her back, only supported by a life-jacket resting under her head instead of on her body where it should have been.…

As we stood side-by- side getting ready to go to the pool, he felt confident and I felt frustrated. I was frustrated about whether or not to wear my super nerdy rash guard or expose my enormous scar to the world. I was frustrated with myself for being jealous that he didn’t have to experience what I did. I was frustrated knowing that people’s worried eyes would be on me when I dove into a pool because they feared I would get hurt. And most of all, I was frustrated by the fact that we were not the same; something I had always pictured being a twin would mean.…

The only reason I actually did it was because my brother told me just to look straight ahead, he said that it was his best friend’s house. I looked straight ahead there was a long row of houses and at my right was a small play ground yellow and a tall basketball hoop.…

Anna Maria Florida It was a hot, humid Sunday in Anna Maria Florida. We were going to the beach with the 3 other families that went with us. It was about a five minute walk from our house we rented to the beach, which really felt like five hours because I was really excited. Once we FINALLY got there my friends and I decided to take our shoes off and find a perfect spot in the white hot sand to set up of chairs and umbrella. We took our clothes off because our swim suits were underneath and sprinted to the clear blue ocean.…
