Personal Narrative: Her Hawaiian Vacation

Decent Essays
Christine told me about her Hawaiian vacation. She felt the temperature in Korea was warmer than Hawaii. Christine described some of the things she had experienced during her trip. For instance, she played in the ocean and watched a Hawaiian luau. Christine said the most impressive thing about the luau was seeing four to five men twirl flaming torches.

Next, Christine proudly announced that she had scored tickets for an upcoming SHINee concert. She was really excited about it! Then, we examined Christine's homework essay. We reviewed each paragraph carefully. WHen it was necessary, I had suggested ways to improve her writing. Some of them are below:

In the islands of Hawaii, Hawaiians depended on the land, scavenging for resources to gather in order to survive. Hawaiians became accustomed to the landscape and began to learn how to farm to grow local plants, how to hunt, and fish from the local wildlife. Now days most “Hawaiians” spend time at home on their ipad or in front of their TV or computer screens. Even though there's the ocean to swim in, and the mountains to hike and relax, people still avoid this. Caught up in the fast pace lifestyle of businesses, they forget what's really out there.…

Each year, a pilgrimage to the Florida or Alabama gulf coast is a highly anticipated and enjoyed event for my family. In the beginning, it was just my wife and I.
