Personal Narrative: Heaven Gate

When I was eight, I started drawing this character, Heaven Gate. This character has been one of the greatest influences to my art work and why I pushed myself to become an artist. This was imaginary friend growing up. Heaven Gate (like the cult but unrelated) was a girl who was different, but was strong and beautiful. Basically everything that I wanted to be growing up. I wanted to be her. And over the years the design for her has changed, but she has stayed the same to me. Always elegant, graceful, smart, and strong. When I was alone growing up, I used to play a lot of video games; I would always pick to play as a woman. Heaven Gate (aka the elf in the drawing) The body is 3/4 angle towards the right. Her bangs both sides with two curls framing her face on. Heaven has curly blonde hair in the back but has straighter hair in the front. She has thicker eyebrows that are darker than her hair color. She has an under layer of red in her skin layer with a lighter yellow layer to give it a more realistic skin tone. The high lights are white while the darker tones are dark brown to light brown. She has two ears that are coming from her curly hair that are long and pointed. Her ears resemble a long ways triangle. She has a metal cross on each side with a metal screw on the two points of the cross. She is wearing a light to dark blueish green eyeshadow and eyeliner that comes out to a wing. She is also wearing a ruby red lipstick with highlights on the right side of her lips. Towards the center part of the neck guard where the neck is a white outline to the neck. The shoulders are covered by a puffy sleeve that is cut off at the shoulder. The top part is a plant that resembles parts of a parrot pitcher. (A plant) The mid-section of the sleeve is a dark sea green that has slips down the middle and has a grayish lime green popping out of the middle. There isn’t a lot of texture to the drawing itself. Everything inside of the composition is smooth. In the foreground there are a lot of glowing balls floating around. The glowing balls are yellow and radiating a small gradient out of the center, also has a small over cast of blue on her so that it gives it the effect of being in a
