Personal Narrative: Head Men's Basketball Team

Basketball season is here again, and the College’s teams are ready to begin its seasons with several new players.
Steve Shepard, head men’s basketball coach, said the team is ready to get its season under way.
“We are excited about getting started,” Shepard said. “It's been a good pre-season. We've got some good competition in. Physically, I think they are ready. It had great preseason weight training.”
Shepard said the men’s team is welcoming three new freshman guard to the team this season.
“DeMon Hyler is going to play a lot as a point-guard and Brandt Cochran and Kyle Cavanaugh are our wings and can shoot it well,” Shepard said. “I think the key to those guys is we got to get them some experience and we have to figure out a way to get them that

“I feel like these ladies have made tremendous improvements since last year,” Vest said. “They all worked hard this summer to improve their conditioning and strength but also to become better scorers. So I think you will see an improved, young group of players that have made that transition after their first or second year and have now got a lot of experience.”
Vest said the Lady ‘Cats also have three new freshman joining its team this season.
Vest said those are players are Jessica Estes,
"(Estes) is going to be a very good player,” Vest said. “She's very athletic. She is coachable. She is eager to learn and I think she has tremendous upside."
Vest said Forrest is a “smart player. She can get to the basket; she can shoot the three and I think she's going to be a good player for us.”
Vest said Smith practiced with the Lady ‘Cats all last season and a spot on the team this year
“Aleksei is tough,” Vest said. “She pushes everyone in practice. Has improved dramatically since she doing this last year and she just doesn't back down, she's like a bulldog. She just gets after you, so she plays an important role as
