Personal Narrative-He Looks Good

Decent Essays
“He looks good.”
My mother wasn’t talking to anyone in particular. I think she said it aloud because she was grateful that her brother looked alive than dead. But I never understood why people said that; I guess it was reassuring that someone appeared asleep.
My uncle James didn’t particularly like me though he tried best to hide it. When I was thirteen I caught him kissing someone other than my aunt. I never knew what happened to the woman; I believe he resented me because I always knew his secret.

Faith is the belief in something greater than us one can put full trust, confidence, and reliance on when difficult times arise. I was 23 before I was diagnosed with Attention Deficit Disorder. As far back as Elementary school I knew that there was something “off” in the way that I processed information. That my ability to do well academically was somehow hindered by not having certain tools that I needed, tools I wasn’t even aware existed. In high school, I began to augment my deficits with strengths. Where my grades were lacking I made up for it through creativity; I excelled at art and photography.…

A genogram is a visual representation of family connections. Symbols used within the genogram can illustrate various social and emotional relationships between family members. In psychiatric-mental health nursing, genograms are helpful tools for exploring specific patterns within a family that span generations (Kneisl & Trigoboff, 2013, p. 652). For example, a client with alcoholism can generate a genogram to visualize patterns of alcoholism within his or her family (Kneisl & Trigoboff, 2013, p. 652). My genogram goes back three generations and highlights the psychological abuse passed down from my grandmother to my father and from my father to his children.…
