When I was was thirteen going into 8th grade I was trying out for the varsity field hockey team. I was down in Alabama visiting my dad during the summer before tryouts. I ran a mile almost every single day that summer to prepare myself for the tryouts. I was running one day, and I had the thought of how awesome it would be if I actually made the team. I wanted to play with my cousin Kerrianne her senior year. I looked up to Kerrianne growing up, and I thought it to be an honor to play with her. The last day there was tryouts I worked a hundred times harder than I ever had before. I did it! I made the team and passed every single test there was. I achieved my goal, and I got to play with my cousin her senior year. I felt like a million bucks that day.
I would have never achieved my goal if I didn't put in the hard work and effort that summer. I could have been relaxing with my friends on the beach, or swimming, but instead I was putting in the work to achieve my goal. With my determination, the help of my father, and my hard work, I achieved my ultimate goal that year and got to where I wanted to be.
After my first year on varsity, I continued working harder to achieve more goals I had set for my self. I looked up to Kerrianne my whole life, but I also competed with her. I wanted to be better than she was. So yet again I trained harder to be a better athlete and to achieve my new goal; playing field hockey in college. Ever since that summer, before 8th grade, I haven't stopped for one moment to think about what if I fail, because I know if I work hard now and do everything I can possibly do I will achieve my goals through hard work and
