“Second thoughts? Too late. Get ready to scream!” The booming voice said over the speakers. Everyone around new this meant another car was about to take off for an intense ride on the timeless roller coaster, California Screamin'. In just a few seconds they would be off, gone to travel over the track in a bright blur. The screams enclosed the car with the force of adrenaline as it appeared and disappeared in a flash. I heard the happy and terrified screams of the people on the coaster and the booming voice of the ones controlling it while strolling around Paradise Pier in Disneyland with my family. At this point, I hadn't been on the roller coaster yet. I preferred to keep myself on the ground and not on the coaster going up side down into crazy drops. My parents however, really wanted to go on so they left me with my nine year old brother Ryan. Ryan and I headed towards the dock and waited for our parents' car to come by. After a couple of minutes, an orange car with twenty-four seats came around the corner and stopped as usual. My parents loaded into the third seat back. They were smiling and holding on tight, just waiting to take off. We stood on the dock and waved good bye along with several others yelling to their friends and family. I saw the cloudless blue sky. I saw the Ferris wheel moving up and around, allowing its riders to look across the park. I saw families walking around together; laughing, eating, and smiling. I watched as the coaster went around the loop, accompanied by more screams. I saw the Tower of Terror in the distance, knowing people were on that ride right now screaming and falling in the dark. That only made me laugh harder. I remember the feeling of exhilaration, as the world was so happy and bright, so unlike anywhere else. It was an innocent joy that bounced off the water and made you
