Hannah Tennison Little Miracle It was a warm summer morning, a perfect day to go swimming and play outside. As I dragged myself down stairs, I heard our car running and my mom shouting “time to go!” I quickly hopped into our burning hot minivan. We peacefully drove to our friend’s house to go swimming. I was so excited to go swimming with my friends, and play in the water. But little did I know what would happen later that day. When we arrived, our friends greeted us like usual. We played tag, Marco Polo, and pretended we were mermaids. My younger sister Lauren was off playing with her little friend. She was in the shallow section because she didn’t know how to swim yet. Meanwhile, I was with my older sister Rachel and my friends in the deep section, having a blast. I didn’t pay much attention to Lauren because I was having too much fun. Then suddenly everything turned around in the worst way possible.
A heard a huge splash. I spotted my huge pregnant mom randomly jumping into the water with her dry clothes on. I was very confused; I didn’t know what she was doing. But I soon realized what was happening. My little sister was drowning. My friend’s mom shouted, “Everyone get out of the pool!” I sat on the bench watching everything take place. The ambulance came rushing to the house; I heard the siren ringing in my ears. I spotted my mom performing CPR on Lauren.
