I am most proud of my accomplishments in gymnastics. Gymnastics was the first place where I experienced rejection; the second time was being rejected from medical school. After my first gym closed down, my mother began researching competitive teams for my sister and I to join. Most gymnasiums require for you to tryout before making a decision. All the of the gyms we tried out at wanted my sister because she was very talented.…

We all have an idea of what we maybe want to do in life, but sometimes we think we want to do that idea that is in our mind because it is in our mind but other cases we want to do it because the idea is there for the moment. Throughout my life I have never really knew what I wanted to do for my occupation. I thought being of computer science, a writer, and a doctor but those didn’t fit well with who I am as a person. The only thing I am most capable of at this moment is being a gymnastic coach. I have always had a passion, love, and talent for this sport since I was a kid.…

I began at the beginner level and over the next eight years, I would become a competitive Level 8 gymnast. My mother knew from the beginning how much I would love it. Over those eight years my family moved four times and we eventually ended up here in Tennessee.…

If I could only select one interest to continue with, I would undoubtedly choose gymnastics. My last competition season is approaching fast and I cannot relinquish the practices after school, the meets, or the girls. I feel a strong connection between myself and gymnastics because I have done it for over 12 years and the people I have encountered have pushed my life in a postive direction. These personal encounters with people and with the sport have taught me life lessons that I cherish and apply to my everyday life. Teamwork, time management between work, practice, and school, and leadership are exquisite examples that this sport have given me.…

For seven years I was a competitive gymnast, training three hours a week, three times a week with meets every weekend. No one at school really understood me for it. I was fine with it…

Men’s gymnastics is not a sport of glamour, prestige, or recognition in South Carolina, but me being me, I begged my parents to sign me up. I participated in a rinky-dink gymnastics program at a local gym run by my city’s recreation department for roughly ten years of my life. My coaches were equivalent to second parents to me, and I competed with countless other gymnasts for those numerous years. However, as the years progressed, people came and went.…

I grew up loving gymnastics, especially since my parents put me in gymnastics classes when I turned two. I love the feeling of stretching myself in unnatural ways and the rush I get when I show my friends a split, even in jeans. I adore the thrill and excitement of flying dangerously through the air, sometimes on a four inch piece of wood, and sometimes off of a bar eight feet in the air. I have never loved anything like I have gymnastics and I don’t think I ever will. My dream and number one goal in life is to go to college with gymnastics.…
