Personal Narrative: Growing Up In Michigan

Growing up in Michigan has been a wonderful experience, but upon completing my education I would like to experience a new area.Taking every life experience I have had and apply it in new ways to other parts of the United States,different from where I got to grow up. By taking what I know, I can spread what I have learned to other citizens with different life styles or experiences. I think a suburban city not to far from a big city is an ideal place to live and start an independent life. Having the option and getting to explore a big city is great as you learn valuable lessons that everyone should know while applying everything I learned living in a suburb community. I have been fortunate enough to spend a good amount of the past 6 years in Chicago. My dads work has temporally located him to work in the city. Living just outside of a city allows you to visit the city when you want but still live in a community setting. Growing up in a family oriented community was really great as it allowed me to make many friends and get to grow up with a majority of them throughout my entire public school experience. Being able to go outside on any given summer day and play with all my neighbors, gives a sense of belonging. Being in a new place allows for a lot of exploring to occur, leading you to learn new things you never would not have known unless you went away from your house. If you return to your hometown you wouldn't get to experience everything the world has to offer. Living where you grew up will not push you to try new things that arise in your life. Moving somewhere that is not where you grew up after completing your education allows you the thrive in a new way by spreading what you know and receiving others
