Growing up in a third world country has its side effects when you're a kid. One of which may be not realizing you're living in a third world country. That is, until you see what the other side of the equator has to offer. Saying Bolivia and the United States are quite different would be an understatement. Underprivileged was never a word that crossed my mind; I lived modestly with a close-knit family. Sadly, the conservative aspect of my life was one I could not get behind. It wasn't until I got into high school that I became self aware about how narrow-minded I was. The indoctrination of everything I was taught infiltrating how I judged others frustrated me infinitely. I grew tired of my nondescript lifestyle and decided to branch out. I then joined the Gay Straight alliance in my school against my mother's wishes. My family thought I was a rebel. I'm not, I'm just open minded, so I taught them to be the same way. Understanding where you come from is a critical part of individual development and will often have a considerable influence on you; but it also helps you grow as an independent thinker.

My ultimate goal is to earn a degree for Radio-Television or its equivalent. After researching many colleges around Florida, I realized UCF is one of the few that offers this specific program and I would be honored to be a part of it. The production and behind the scenes side of the entertainment business has always been an underlying passion of mine. With the research I did, I discovered that UCF has many partnerships with employers such as Disney, Universal Studios, Etc.
