We spent a lot of time together while Anthony was out in the hospital. One afternoon after a date with Cassidy, she told me to go to her apartment. We went to her house, and I awed at how neat everything was. "Everything has its place, doesn't it?" I questioned as we stepped over the threshold. Cassidy looked up at me, kissed me on the cheek, and grabbed my hand. "Well, what are you waiting for?" She dragged me to her bedroom and pushed me onto the bed. "Cass, we talked about this." "So? That doesn't mean I listened." She walked over to the bed and smiled. I sat up and put my back against the wall. "We're not doing this." "Oh, we're so doing this. I hugged her, but she suddenly sat up, staring outside of the window. As she stared, the sunset seeped through the blinds and created golden bands on …show more content…
PICK UP YOUR PHONE, Anthony texted. I had 4 missed calls. I slid from underneath Cassidy and went into the bathroom. "What, Anthony?" I moaned, sleepily. "Why have you been ignoring me? It's been weeks! Literally weeks!" "So you waited for me to call you first?" I fired back. "So you're gonna pin this on me?" "No, but I don't have to call first is all that I'm saying." "There's been something I've need to tell you, and you've been too busy to

I am a middle child. I was born two years after my sister Meredith, and Caleigh came six years after me. Within my family and friends, I am known as the quiet, quintessential middle child. For the first 16 years of my life, I was always an afterthought to the craziness of the first-born and the baby of the family, and I loved it‒ it made me independent and self-reliant. I was very comfortable being the easy-going child, happily accepting anything that came my way.…

My father has been in the military for 30 years. His career has taken him and my family, to every corner of the world. While we never experienced “a life of almost tropical idleness’ (CITATION) like the children of Jane Smiley, we became effective and efficient members of our house hold. We learned to respect our house and our family.…
