Groupthink is led by the influence from authority and peers. Groups grow to think alike and become convinced there is only one “right” viewpoint. Groups think it is disloyal to take suggestions for alternatives. Groups have narrow perspective and most likely believe they are fully right.…

I'm usually a perceptive person, but you really got me this time.…
Groupthink is “the practice of thinking or making decisions as a group that discourages creativity or responsibility”. When everyone within the group believes in and acts the same, problems will emerge. This contributes to why they 're ridiculous goals will never be met. Part of the reason groupthink is Bad a success is due to the lack of outside perspective. In a way it 's compared to an old philosophy that Opposites attract.…

When I grow up, I want to change the world! Changing the world one day would make me feel really good. Three ways I would change the world are: make sure everyone has a shelter to live in; help more lost, sick, and hurt animals, and make sure no one is hungry. I would like to help homeless people have a nice place to stay. When I’m driving downtown I see a lot of homeless people on the streets; dirty, and sad.…
My experience has been interesting, positive, and at the same time rewarding. My very first experience with working in group was couple of years ago during a final year project, in my country of birth. The project was in community medicine, and involved repeated trip to a rural community by my group to access their health status, and needs. We had many challenges, but overcame them all as a group. I learnt the act of collaboration, critical thinking, problem solving, decision making by consensus building, and most importantly; comradeship.…

Groupthink is a psychological phenomenon that occurs within a group of people, in which the desire for harmony or conformity in the group results in an irrational or dysfunctional decision making outcome. Jonestown is a great example of groupthink because everyone believed in Jim Jones. Hundreds of people thought it was a great idea to commit mass suicide in Jonestown, all under the command of their detrimental leader, Jim Jones even though some of them thought it was a preposterous…
My first position is my house because you are relaxed and focus and my house is quiet and peacful so there's no noise and im not distracted like if i was somewhere where there is alot of noise and stuff to get me distracted like games and stuff like that thats just me personally i get distracted alot i need to be some where that's quiet to help me be on task. My second position is the library becaeuse first and foremost there is not talking in the library so it's originally quiet and that's what i like because alot of people function more when there's peace and quiet and some don't they just like the noise to do there work but i personally think there should be quiet while doing work.…
Group A has faced many conflicts throughout the semesters and fortunately the hostility was resolved rather quickly. Each member from the group spoke up about their feelings and was soon followed by a group reflection of the expressed hostility. The group was able to bounce back and continue the therapeutic process with a little more insight. However, with the crises that occurred prior to these last two sessions, it has really taken effect on the group and the way they manage hostility. The here and now process has not been able to progress even with the help of the leader.…
Groupthink “occurs when highly cohesive groups fail to consider alternatives that may effectively resolve group dilemmas. Groupthink theorists contend that group members frequently think similarly and are reluctant to share unpopular or dissimilar ideas with others. When this occurs, groups prematurely make decisions, some of which can have lasting consequences.” I chose this theory because is a theory that is very important to understand on both an individual and organizational level. You need to understand groupthink so that you can be self-aware and avoid falling into it.…
The idea of the word groupthink is defined as “the practice of thinking or making decisions as a group in a way that discourages creativity or individual responsibility” (Oxford Dictionary). When making decisions using groupthink individual responsibility is discouraged, because of the fact that your own ideas might not come into play or the group you are making a decision with might not like it or think it would help the situation. One might also say it discourages individual responsibility, because you are not taking the responsibility to solve the problem on your own. On the other hand, groupthink can be used to help reach a final decision as a team and open up the chance for new ideas to be formed and discovered. When you work as a team…
Throughout my life, and most recently my high school years, I have had the opportunity to work in many different groups for different purposes. Ranging from multiple project groups, study, and missionary groups, many of my experiences so far have been positive with substantially few negatives. I have many experiences working small groups, most notably working in an assigned group for a collaborative project. The roles I take vary, depending on the subject. When we are working on a topic that I am familiar with or I am passionate about, I usually appoint myself as a leader.…
The first thing I noticed was the color. It was faded in one section. The different layers were now becoming visible. The pattern of the couch reminded me of it. I sat in the spot.…
Birkrem Role The overwhelming idea in within my group placed me as opus opinion. Much was said about how I sometimes take control and lead, but most of the time are very laid back and allow others to lead. It was strongly brought to my attention by my group members in a funny way that when I am related to the topic or have an opinion about it I make myself heard and are sometimes difficult to persuade.…
