Greenhouse Gases Equal Global Warming

As I stand tall, roots in the ground, my long branches are grey, black, and brown.

The leaves of my friends and I touch the sky, while everything around us starts to die.

I store CO2, I help the Earth, but burning fossil fuels is making everything worse.

When I stand here, I hear silent cries, as greenhouse gases rise up in the sky.

Greenhouse gases are in our atmosphere; global warming leaves every person and animal in fear.

We know how to stop it, but we choose not to; soon, our sky will be grey not blue.

Humans are definitely all to blame as our Earth goes up in flame.

Technology and new inventions to come are making our Earth very glum.

I have a feeling that, very soon, the Earth will be just

It is plan to see that we are putting something in the air that definitely should not be there. In The Sixth Extinction Kolbert points out that if we continue to pump carbon into the atmosphere the global temperature will increase between three and seven degrees in a few years. I can agree with the fact that we are not paying attention enough to emissions coming from out cars and we are not really trying to carpool. So again, I can see how I may be contributing to the increase in temperature which in turn is melting the polar icecaps at an alarming rate. It is not a coincidence that we are starting to have a lot of floods and tornados.…

It's evident that temperature is rising which as a result causes us to experience a lot of abnormal climate changes worldwide. The cause of this increase of temperature is the greenhouse effect. The greenhouse effect is constructed by water vapor, carbon dioxide, methane and ozone. The greenhouse effect is when the gasses trap the sunlight, not making them bounce back to space, which creates the atmosphere to warm, thus making Earth hotter. What’s responsible for realising a large amount of carbon dioxide is the burning of fossils fuels.…

Writer, Bill McKibben, first warned the world of global warming twenty years ago with his book “The End of Nature.” His warnings went unheard and now he insists we listen and become more informed. McKibben urges for people to realize we’ve waited too long and now the many changes of the world are already underway and there’s not much we can do. Our once sustainable Earth is now melting, drying, burning, and acidifying. McKibben says the old Earth we lived on, no longer exists.…

Polar bears have been alive for one million years. For the past thirteen years, global warming has been affecting climate change, and has hurt the polar bears’ habitat. Climate change has been fastly melting the Arctic. Greenhouse gases act like a sheet or blanket that keeps the planet warm. This protective layer keeps our atmosphere habitable.…

Climate Change Climate change is one of the significant factors that have an impact on many of the Earth’s ecosystems, communities, and economies. Scientists have said that human activities are the leading cause of climate change and it should change that because if nothing changes now, it will continue to alter the environment that we depend on for survival. According to NASA, “human activities over the past 50 years have warmed our planet”. (NASA) Humans are a major cause in producing climate change by cutting down forests, burning of fossil fuels and driving.…

We have been concerned with the way you have been contributing to the growing amount of greenhouse gases being released into our Earth’s atmosphere. Although your corporation has taken some environmental initiatives, we would like to ask that you please reconsider drilling and refining oil because it is harming the environment. Oil spills are one thing, but climate change is another. Our ecosystem and climate is very fragile, and we only have one Earth. Ever since the industrial revolution in the 1700-1800s we have been releasing more and more amounts of greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.…

Teddy Willcocks Y1 Civics Ms. Marshall Essay Climate change affects everybody and everything all over the world and is impacting how we live our lives. Around the world, we need to tackle the issues of climate change and alter the way we consume and dispose of resources. The pollution we create from factories and vehicles goes up into our atmosphere and creates a barrier of greenhouse gas. When the sun 's rays come to earth and then radiate back out to space, they can’t go back because of the one way, very thick greenhouse gas barrier. The 20 warmest years ever have happened since 1981 and with 10 of the warmest happening within the past 12 years and this is continuing to get worse as the years go on.…

Imagine a barren wasteland, incapable of supporting the growth of any form of life and overpopulated with more people than it could sustain: this is the future of the earth. But, this is not just another scene from a sci-fi film of a population that has expedited their vital resources, but the reality for the “over 7 billion people” who populate the home we call earth (Hardaway 4). A considerable amount of blame is placed on global warming which is an “increase in the temperature of the lower atmosphere“; however, global warming has not garnered enough acceptance from some political officials and skeptics due to the term’s ambiguity (“global warming”). Global warming is often confused with climate change and although these terms sound alike…

In the modern era, progression is constantly occurring through every aspect of life. People are focused on the current time rather than the future. The current effects people have on the environment with machinery and careless behavior is constantly destroying the ozone for the future. The controversial topic of greenhouse gas emissions is disputed about the hindering economic effects. Many believe the economic strain is not worth a greater debt.…

Anyone can have valid information, but the way they present it can affect their credibility. In the speech “Global warming alarmism reaches a tipping point” by Senator James Inhofe, he points out the targeted audience of global warming films. In his speech he uses a lot of ad hominems in an attempt to make his target lose credibility or damage their reputation, he uses fallacies against the person who made them to make them appear less credible, and he over uses pathos appeal which caused him to lose credibility. Inhofe’s speech is the least credible because he uses ad hominem attacks to discredit DiCaprio.…

Global warming is being caused by humans and something should be done about it. The reason global warming is so prevalent is because people do not know they are hurting the environment and some people do not believe it is real. There will be consequences to everyone if nothing is done about it. Around the world, less than half the people in the UK (43 percent), Germany (49 percent), and Norway (34 percent) believe that global warming is caused by civilization (Le Page).…

Temperatures rise as the result of greenhouse gases, namely carbon dioxide and water vapor, being released into the atmosphere in large quantities; after release into the atmosphere, these gases trap heat that is reflected off the surface of the earth. This reflective strength develops as more and more greenhouse gases are released. Because human activities are leading causes of carbon dioxide release, the concentration of the gas has been increasing over time. In 1950, carbon dioxide, for the first time in history, composed three hundred parts per million of the atmosphere, skyrocketing to just under four hundred by 2014 (“Climate Change” 1). World population experienced similar a similar trend.…

The subject of climate change has been hotly debated over the past decade. It is now obvious that the climate is changing and that it is more than likely going to cause problems in the future. The amount of carbon dioxide being released into the atmosphere has considerably increased since the Industrial Revolution. As fossil fuels such as coal, natural gas, and crude oil are burned, carbon dioxide is discharged into the atmosphere where it is trapped. This is called the greenhouse effect and although essential to the survival of all life on Earth, this process has gotten out of hand recently.…

In recent years, as technology advances faster than ever, there has also been a huge surge in the awareness of global warming and greenhouse gas emissions. In the article, The Fast-Approaching ‘Point of No Return’ for Climate Change by Karin Kamp and John Light, top climate scientists warns the international policymakers about the current and potential permanent damages to our environment, sets a target level for lessening harmful greenhouse gases, and urges policymakers to push for new policies concerning the environment. In the article, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) explains that the damages have already affected the earth through climate change (e.g. global warming) and rising sea levels. The IPCC warns that if the…
