Personal Narrative: Grandpa, How Did Humans Evolve?

Improved Essays
If I had the opportunity to have a 30-minute conversation, I would do it with my late grandfather. I regret losing him a few years ago to cancer. He still lingers in my mind and I often cry when I remember him. Nevertheless, death is a natural process and I have to accept the situation, but I believe that I will meet him again in the next life. My grandfather was a great friend and mentor in my life. He used to show me the realities of life and taught me how to have self-identity and discover my purpose on earth. I am very grateful for the time we spend together and still recalls his phrase “If you can’t take it then you can’t make it.” We had conversations on different topics and we would go fishing together.

Three people I would ask are Lee Wayne Wheeler, Joseph Taverez, and my Mom because Lee Wayne and Joseph both died way too soon and died in car accidents and my mother was so heart broken when these loved ones of ours were taken. Lee Wayne was my moms brother before he passed away in unfortunite car accident. My mother was six month's pregnant with me when the car accident happened. I have always been told stories about how funny his and how much he is like Clay, my brother.…

Homo erectus, or the "upright man," was an ancient ancestor of humans that lived between two million and one hundred thousand years ago. Homo erectus compared to Homo sapiens, which only evolved two hundred thousand years ago. This means that Homo erectus could have been the first human ancestor to have similar limbs and torso that are seen in today’s modern humans. The Homo erectus showed that it did not have the adaptation of swing from branches which can be seen from its skeletal system but suggesting it had adapted to walking on both feet confirming his name the “upright man”.…

It has many, ape-like features, such as; small brain size, brow ridges and small canine teeth, which are characteristic of hominids. My origin Story Do you feel how hard is it when you forced to leave your own country? Since we born, the process of changes and challenges starts taking effects on us physically and emotionally. In our life, we never expect every thing run in good shape or smoothly. For example, we never thought that one day we as a family are going to live in The United States. Since leaving my country, Iraq, which is the most horrible thing in my memory, I have gone through enough challenges not only myself but even for my family as well that converted our way of life.…

Humans Evolved From Apes Where humans came from is a question that has been asked since the beginning of time. Some people believe we were created by a god. Others believe we were created by multiple gods. However, anatomical and behavioral similarities with modern apes, along with fossil evidence of our evolutionary history, gives proof that humans evolved from an ape-like ancestor and are in fact, still apes.…

As I read through the readings we have heard this morning, particularly our gospel, two memories from my childhood came to my mind. On the surface they seem to have little to do with what we have read, but bear with me, I hope to make them make sense. The first memory was of my mother, or more particularly my mother’s habit of beginning to watch a movie when it was half way through. I’m not sure if you’ve had a similar experience as that, where people join into the storyline after most of the character development and plot construction has taken place – leaving them with no clue what is going on, but for some reason an insatiable need to make sense of it. “Is he the good guy?”, “Oh, why did they do that?”, “Well this makes no sense at all?”.…
