Personal Narrative: Grace In Chicago

Decent Essays
The most fabulous restaurant I’ve been to is Grace in Chicago. Grace is the best restaurant I’ve ever dined at because of the atmosphere. There are no windows in the restaurant. After walking down a long hallway to the dining room, guests are seated at large circular tables with comfortable chairs. My parents and I watched a documentary about the restaurant beforehand, in which the narrator said each chair cost over a thousand dollars. Four different bathrooms were in the restaurant, each lavishly decorated to represent one of the four seasons. The service at Grace puts it at a level above all other restaurants I have visited. Waiters stood around the perimeter of the restaurant, ready to help as soon as someone needed assistance. As soon as I would get up from my chair, there would be a waiter standing next to me to walk me to the restroom. After I came back into the dining room, there was already a new napkin at my place, and a waiter holding my chair out. The staff was also extremely knowledgeable about all the dishes we were served. …show more content…
Curtis Duffy, the executive chef and owner of Grace, ensures that the food served at his establishment surpasses the cuisine at all other restaurants. After earning its third star in the Michelin Dining Guide, the highest award a restaurant can receive, Grace became one of only fourteen restaurants in the country to receive this honor. After a guest sits down to eat, he or she is treated to a tasting menu consisting of ten different dishes. My personal favorite out of the menu that included rabbit, Alaskan king crab, and black truffles, was the perfectly cooked

The site that I visited was Mercy Hill Church in Greensboro, NC. I went to a sermon, with some friends, that took place on a Sunday night. When we arrived at the church, we stayed together and observed the site. The members of this church all seemed to be within their twenties and thirties; there were a few younger children and a few older women and men, but not many. Most of these people seemed to be from Christian ethnic backgrounds or just unaffiliated with any ethnicity.…

I chose to write my paper on S. Truett Cathy, because as you will see, he is one of the great pioneers of the hospitality, and foodservice, industry. From a very young age, Samuel Truett Cathy (“Truett”) realized that providing excellent customer service was the heart and soul of any good business model. He set out to accomplish his goals, and with some ups and downs along the way, built the second-largest quick-service chicken restaurant chain in the United States. S. Truett Cathy is an gifted businessman, author, Presidential Volunteer Service Award winner, and philanthropist; he also embodies the very meaning of exceeding guest expectations. Samuel Truett Cathy grew up poor in Eatonton, Georgia, a city that at the time of his birth, had…

My husband, our four children, and I visited the El Rodeo in Mooresville, Indiana on April 15, 2017. We arrived around one in the afternoon and were surprised to find that the customers were few and far between. We were seated immediately, and our server, Juan, was at our table within seconds. He brought with him three baskets of chips and three bowls of salsa. Our food arrived at our table about ten minutes after we ordered.…

The Midwest is home to states with rich cultural backgrounds and popular tourist attractions. To take a break from the busy schedule I have as a student, and to avoid writing more essays like this, I went on a vacation to Michigan with my mother and two siblings. We visited South Haven, a pleasant port city on Lake Michigan’s east coast, and Detroit, the famous largest city in Michigan. These areas interest me because there’s plenty to do; there are amazing restaurants, breath-taking scenery, and family-friendly, inexpensive entertainment. South Haven is famed for its relaxed atmosphere and homely feel.…

Our field trip to Chicago offered me a new way of seeing the city. I have been to Chicago multiple times, yet this trip offered me an experience I was not expecting. It offered me an insight to the darkness that covers the city and the beacons of light that try to shine through that darkness. It opened my eyes to those who are searching for a truth, a love and an acceptance and are finding it in so many different places; whether it is Jesus People USA, South East Friendship Center, Olive Branch, a Krishna Temple or an Islamic Mosque. In each of these places individuals are just trying to figure out where they belong and if they can find acceptance, but what each offers is entirely different.…

While it's not a full scale restaurant, it does have enough delicious food to choose from and is the perfect way to relax with friends and family alike after playing a few holes of golf. I especially like the architecture on the course--English country Tudor. It's beautiful and lends in well with the theme of a day in the country out of a busy fast-paced lifestyle that you find in Chicago. Being this is a world-class golf course, in a country club environment, you'll especially appreciate the various events that you can plan if you make a return trip. Weddings, birthdays, graduation parties and you can always count having the golf course opened during holidays throughout the year.…

Every time I walk into Texas Roadhouse my eyes wonder over to where the rolls and their special cinnamon butter waiting to be consumed by the customer. I hear country music playing in the background, and feel peanuts crumbling under my feet like leaves on a beautiful autumn day. Without looking at the menu, my mind is already preparing my stomach for the flavorful food that I am about to encounter. Texas Roadhouse gives the Newark population somewhere local to get a great steak while getting a significate value. From personal experience most of the other steakhouses will get very pricey for a family of five making it difficult to dine at their restaurant while living on a tight budget.…

An Experience Worth Remembering 1618 Seafood Grille is the first of three locations in Greensboro, which opened in 2004. Located in an old firehouse, its ambiance has a rustic yet upscale feel. Once inside, it’s soft lighting and well dressed staff are polite and courteous, which are the first clues to the kind of experience offered at this location. Although, taking a glimpse at their website, prior to one 's dining experience, will prove evident enough to the quality of dining and level of experience one could expect to have.…
