Personal Narrative: Goldendoodle

When my parents announced that we were getting a dog, I screamed my head off—not literally! I was so loud you could hear me on Mars! My dad explained that we had to go to Calgary, because that’s where the breeder lived. We left in my mom’s silver Acura to get the dog. My Dad said we had to get a boy because he didn’t want puppies.
We got there around 1:00 p.m. The parents were a golden retriever and a poodle. The breeder explained to me and my sister, Maya, that if you cross a golden retriever and a poodle, you get a Goldendoodle! She and her three kids brought in four different puppies: Red, a girl; Blue One, a boy; Green, a boy; and Blue Two, a boy. If you’re wondering what’s the difference between Blue One and Blue Two was, Blue One had thicker

His fur was as curly as his father’s and as gold as a pirate’s treasure room with the sun shining on it. Zipper’s favourite treat was leftover meat. He ate carrots if he was being good; otherwise, he ate dog food. We didn’t have a lot of dog toys; however, I think I was his favourite toy. My dad yelled at him a lot because Zipper liked to play with me, but sometimes he tackled me because he got so excited. Dad also had to yell because Zipper wasn’t potty trained, so Zipper did his business on the carpet.
When I would come home from school, Zipper would be really excited. I know because he would jump on me and bark! Zipper looked hilarious while he slept. One time, it looked like he was running. Another time, it looked like he was chasing a cat!
A few weeks later, my parents decided we had to give Zipper back to the breeder because we were all allergic and we didn’t have the time for him. Also, Maya was scared of Zipper, and I was the only one who played with him.
Most of my friends never got to see Zipper. The only friend who got to see him was Mya Lee. She saw Zipper because she is my neighbour. Now, whenever I see a picture of Zipper, I feel every word to describe sad and I tear

It was hard to remember the dog Seeley had been before she became ill. A happy girl with curly, silver hair that relished each morning and delighted in each night. We knew she had been through quite a lot in her life, telling from the moon-like cataract clouding her left eye and the swollen nipples that hung lowly from her stomach. She enjoyed cuddling and seldom barked, but did often make weird scoffing noises when she was excited. She was our baby.…
