However the one event that has influenced me the most to pursue attending a Christian University occurred 13 years ago. My wife Charlie was pregnant with our first child. The first day of class I went up to the professor and talked to him about my wife being pregnant and I wanted him to be aware of the situation because I told him I may not be there for the final. Well it happened my wife went into labor and had our first daughter Joey on October 18, 2001. The labor was long and hard on my wife as the labor went on for 26 hours before Joey was born. After Charlie had Joey she was not going to be discharged immediately because she …show more content…
I felt like they were putting the money they were making from student tuition as being more important than the people that were there. That is why I jumped at the opportunity to do ISOM (International School of Ministry) at our home church in Las Cruces, NM and that is why I am jumping at the opportunity to continue my college education and Colorado Christian University. I am looking to achieve a Organizational Management degree in Human Resources and through discussion with Marcus Laws I am very interested in doing this in addition to the Christian Leadership aspect. This is what has turned me toward CCU the most is the opportunity to get a degree but also a degree that will allow me to use my caring ability of others in a far greater capacity then I would be able to do anywhere else. I have prayed and talked to GOD about going back to college to get my degree. I believe that GOD has told me that this is where I am suppose to be and this is the time that I am suppose to be going back! I look forward to continuing my education and being able to obtain a degree that I can use to be able to help others in a greater role than I otherwise would have been able to do without a

Why did you choose CBU? As a senior in high school, I was confused about what I wanted for my future, where I wanted to attend college, and most importantly, where I stood in my relationship with the Lord. My worldview closely resembles the Biblical Worldview described in the Charry text, but by no means is anywhere near where it could be. My Christian character will continue to develop and mature throughout my life as I continue to study the scriptures, commune with God in prayer, continually ask for repentance, and forgiving those who have showed transgressions toward me. L. Gregory Jones states, “Christian living requires a willingness to inquire after the God of Jesus Christ, an inquiry which shapes us a people of repentance and forgiveness” (Charry, 2000, p. 204). Repentance and forgiveness are two aspects of the Christian walk that I struggle with. There are many times that I get so busy with life that I forget to prayerfully repent…
