The boys were getting older, and one of them mentioned a go-cart one day, inspiring me to make another one. The fifth one would have a 5HP engine, a real clutch and motorcycle wheels with integral wheel brakes. We had an area to drive it on the road behind us was not developed much. Each time I built one, I made the design simpler and at this point it could be put together in a couple weeks. The balloon-type wheels cushioned the ride on the rough local streets and provided excellent braking. A bumper on the front and a safety flag behind so other cars could see them coming finished out the project. Both boys enjoyed the manual clutch as it provided driver involvement.
