Improved Essays
Two years ago at Santa Ana, I saw a homeless man on a curb next to a parking lot of ABC Supermarket begging for money. I pitied him and reached out 3 dollars in my pocket and gave him my money. He said,“God bless you” and gave me a distinctive smile.I remember to this day, seeing him so happy brought me such joy.
The pleasure of helping an unfortunate man felt warming and rewarding.I wanted to continue helping others like I did for him, because it brings me a sense of pride and satisfaction of doing something to change the world, even if it’s small. I gave him 3 dollars and in return he gave me a passion. Last November, Citrus Hill High School had a food drive called “Give Back to Our Community” for the less fortunate. I volunteered to help

I also would kindly ask people to donate as they came in or out of the mall. I kept a kind and loving smile on my face to welcome anyone who was willing to donate.…

I use to work with a girl who was homeless and she was living out of her friends closet just to have somewhere to sleep at night. She didn’t know how long she would get to stay there so I bought her a sleeping bag, a blanket, and a pillow incase she had to sleep outside again or just in case she didn’t have anything to sleep with at night. She was so happy to receive the gifts from me and seeing her appreciation made me realize, what seems like a little gift to you is a huge need for someone…

Something simple as giving those water bottles, and PB&J sandwiches makes their heart jumps, and here we are with food, shelter, and yet we still can’t be content and be happy. I always dreamed of helping those who didn’t have it as good as I did because I always knew, that if my dad lost his job then that could be me and my family. Even looking at myself now and being blessed enough to stay with my sister when I know that I can’t stay with my dad due to his wife or with my mom in Montreal due to immigration reason, this could have been me, on the street begging for food, for shelter and lost. However, even with all these things people are still searching and feel as if they’re lost and have nowhere to go, but I believe that God’s plan for each and every one of us is perfect. And I believe in his good thoughts for us and good plans for us.…

Over the past two months I have spent numerous nights filling yards with flamingos while the families inside slept unknowing of what was happening. I spent a night teeter tottering for six hours and made blankets the day after. When I worked at a grocery store I used to stop during my walk back, and return to buy groceries. These are all things I do nearly out of impulse because of how I was raised and who I am. Growing up I learned from a young age that if someone you know needs something, you give what you can.…
