But inspiration came to me before prom when I went to Dylan's candy bar and got a ginormous Jawbreaker. Over the last few days, I have been mindlessly licking and sucking on this Jawbreaker. Sometimes when you throw yourself at something over and over again things might go wrong. For example after battling this jawbreaker the last few days my mouth is bleeding and covered in scabs. It’s kind of like erosion of the mouth. While at first a rock might appear its blocking the wind after years of pummeling this rock will break apart just like my tongue. Then one day I came across an announcement at school that said “Come to the Key Club meeting every Wednesday, there’ll be free candy”. As I stand to my feet, my mind starts to race at the speed of light before my feet move an inch. “I’m not going to say it right, I’m going to mess it up and be at the wrong end of every joke”. Slowly, I make what feels like my own funeral procession to the podium, there I stand and for a moment I feel heart palpitations causing all my veins to throb and my brow to slick with sweat. My words are in front of me, though the contents are not what concerns me; it is the movement of my lips, the air flowing through my vocal cords, and the unknown which cause such anxiety. It feels as though the rest of my high school career is to be thrown away, into a pit of mockery just as my first year was beginning.…

At a younger age, I would say I believed that I can only trust myself and my mother, this is because as a little kid my mom would always tell me that there are bad people in the world and that giving them any information about anything can be very harmful. But as I grew up and realized what was actually happening in my country I knew there were millions of others that were suffering against the “bad people” and we could only do something about it if the whole community came together to help. It was at that time when I was about 25, when I started to put some effort into trying to establish more just conditions within my country especially after the implication of extremely high food prices.
