Growing up with my grandparents it was rare that I witness any gender socialization. This was because I was raised to be independent and do thing for myself. When I turned 19 and I started my first year at Georgia Perimeter College I got my first apartment in Stone Mountain. I already knew the life skills I need to take care of myself and my dogs but it was a burden on me. I was working two jobs, in school, maintaining a apartment, and doing everything by myself.
