Yes, I know. Gary Vee told everyone that in 2017 they should document, don't create. And I agree. But I want to stop people from misunderstanding. Or at least what I am pretty sure is a misinterpretation of Gary's words. I don't know Gary Vee, and I'm pretty sure he has no idea who I am (although, he did come up in my LinkedIn suggested connections), but I consider myself a proud citizen of

From the ages of 5 to 20, Dale Friend lived with no sisters or brothers outside of a village named Stony Ridge Ohio. Growing up in a farming community where over half of the population being Caucasian German folk, he barely experienced diversity except for the occasional Hispanics that came over to work in the summertime. When Dale graduated out of Eastwood High School at the age of 18, he left for Ohio State University in 1979. When asked of his transition from going to a high school with approximately 450 students from 6 different small-scale villages, to attending a college with over 50,000 students at the time, he replied, “It was fun going from everybody being the same, to so many differences and diversity.” Although Dale had certain…

After watching some gameplay videos for the new ps4 game Until Dawn, I was reminded of a strange term I had once heard, the butterfly effect. Upon seeing this, I decided to do some research to find out more about it. The Chaos theory more commonly called the butterfly effect summarized by Edward Lorenz is a branch of mathematics that deals with complex systems whose behaviour is highly sensitive to slight changes in conditions, so that small alterations can give rise to strikingly great consequences. With this, I thought a many life decisions that I had made, both large and small and thought of how they affected my life and how different my life would be if I had chosen to take another path. I am a Christian and with further thought, came to…

I am known for the "American System" and known as the "Great Compromiser," however I have accomplished and been through so much more than that. Born in 1777 in Hanover County, Virginia, I was exposed to American history since I was young. In 1797, I moved to Kentucky along with many others wanting to pursue careers in law and politics. My political career began in 1803 when I was elected to the Kentucky General Assembly then appointed to the U.S. Senate in 1806. I was Secretary of State under John Quincy Adams.…

One Perception Check Later A light rain comes to a stop as I walk up the slick driveway of my friend Aaron’s house. I push on the white, waterlogged, wooden fence gate to the backyard and stand just thirty feet from the open garage door. The backyard consists of two halves: the concrete path with a hutch housing rabbits and a grass yard with a brown, stone fire pit. A constant air of music plays from the wind chimes that hang from a vine-covered terrace separating the two areas.…

Confident, innovative and liberal are words that my best friend would use to describe who I am today. As captain of my high school’s varsity volleyball team, I gained confidence within myself through the times I lead my teammates on the court and inspired them during times of distraught. With the help of Cat Rock, an organization focused on teaching inner-city students how to become outdoor leaders I also worked on becoming a leader as a result of learning how to lead hikes and how to take control of any situation under any circumstances. I am also described to be innovative after I created an app with the help of Camp Interactive, program which helped me create an app prototype that would benefit my community. In the span of three weeks my…
