I asked in my head. “You look like a nice kid,” Khrysta said. Was this what having friends was like. It felt like a bright colorful rainbow formed above my brain.

“Hi I’m Garrett what’s your name?” I said with a smile on my face.
“I’m .J.T Campbell like the soup,” He said.
“Wow a kid named after a soup bran cool!” I thought. I also know a kid named Tommy Mullet and a kid named Nathan Edlin. They are always arguing about who’s Garrett’s real friend. I actually like them the same amount ,but they never listen. Having all these best friends fixed my life forever.

One of my greatest toys as a child was my battery-powered Cadillac Escalade, an enormous five-hundred dollar car my mother worked so hard to get! My mom and grandpa even went to two different stores just to get it for me, because my mom really wanted me to have it. I remember being three-years-old and waking up to this half-scaled, maroon car and just being in awe at all the features it had! I remember it being roofless, and having a plastic key already in the ignition so that when you turned it, the car would buzz to life. It had two little gas pedals, and although the radio was plastic, it had three knobs.…

The cozy bubble that encompassed my life popped in an instant when I transferred to middle school. For instance, the social expectations and the need to make friends consumed the people that used to be my friends and changed them completely. Several students always believed that self-worth came with the people that surrounded them. Other people that wanted some alone time instantly turned strange in others eyes. The flow of middle school life easily changed any type of person, but I tried to go against it with my will in a futile struggle of “good” and “evil”.…
