I've done it countless times. I walk up the driveway of my dad’s generic suburban ranch house and open the fading, white garage door. The lights on either side of the door mirror each other and are always shining. Once the door finishes its loud opening sequence, I stare at the rusty decklid and tail lights of my Mustang.
Off to the right of the car is a wall filled with shelves. The shelves are filled with miscellaneous items such as, christmas decorations, basketballs, and motor oil. The homemade wooden shelves stretch from front to back and ceiling to floor. The nose of the car points to my favorite wall. The east wall, which is right of the car, has the solid brown door that leads into the foyer. To the left of the door are more wooden shelves but these hold strictly sprays for cars. For example starter fluid, cloth seat cleaner, Seafoam engine cleaner and a blue bottle of Windex to clean windows. The stone gray workbench to the right of the brown door matches the concrete floor. The workstation is always cluttered with parts for what we are currently working on. Tools and spare parts are scattered across the smooth table top. Under the mess is an old radio from the 80’s my dad used to use. My dad always tunes it to 94.7 WCSX which is a classic rock station. The radio is rarely turned off. The red heavy duty vice is also bolted to the workbench and comes in handy frequently. The old white fridge is cramped between the wall and the workbench along the same wall. The fridges only purpose for us is keeping drinks cold. On top of the fridge is a two foot tall speaker from the 80’s that spreads the classic rock throughout the garage. In the middle of the garage our current project, a 1987 Mustang GT convertible. The painters tape on the floor marks where the brand new white letter tires lineup so we
