The Urban Dictionary defines fabulous as: the ultimate compliment in the gay community. I personally could not agree more. When people hear the name, "Gabbi Melvin" the first word that comes to mind is fabulous followed by amazing and stupendous. It was in the month of September and a group of friends and I went to the mall. My dear friend Angie dared me to walk into a store and pretend to be from a different land. Naturally, I accepted the dare. I walked into the first store I saw. Using my best British voice I said, "Ello is this Narnia?" to which a cashier looked very confused. "Um no, this is Maternity Outfitters." Using my best fabulous crab walk, I I high tailed it out of there. Needless to say, fabulous people never back down from a dare.
No matter where you hear, see, or read the world fabulous, my face will always be beside it. Some are born with it, some learn it over the years, and some are Gabbi Melvin. I am truly sorry not everyone can be me, because their life must be so boring. There is the most interesting man in the world, and there is the most fabulous girl in the world. I am both. Stay fabulous my

Even though I do not remember many things from my childhood, I remember the moment when I met Melvin Miller very clearly. I was only five, and when I walked up to him for the first time I had no clue he would change my life forever. My first moment with Melvin was watching him lay tile. I watched as he very eloquently placed each piece of porcelain and grout on the floor in a way that I had never seen before. I was immediately captivated.…

I interviewed an eighth grade student named Jorden Johnson, who currently attends Paul Robeson/Malcolm X Academy, located in Detroit. My reason behind choosing Jorden for this interview is simply because of the requirement to interview a student, which I am very glad he ended up being my interviewee. When I spoke to Jorden in regards to the interview, he did not sound very interested in the interview. However, I convinced him that this is simply just an interview to see what eight graders think when they are conducting problem. After, convincing him, he allowed me to interview him.…
