After 4 hours of math, science and history it was finally time to get our stuff and walk over to the junior high for the 8th grade graduation rehearsal. I needed to go get my stuff from my locker with the other 150 kids that also needed their stuff. I fight through all those people and managed to get to my locker. I grabbed my backpack with my lunch and the book I’ve been reading “From the Mixed-up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler”. Now that everyone has their stuff, we started walking.
I went to find my friend Caleb. He was with one of my other friends, Alex. We started to talk about the election, but after a few minutes, I was done talking about politics. I put in my headphones and started to listen to a podcast I had downloaded on my

We all had to find our advisory teachers again. We all had to be accounted for so we didn’t leave anyone behind. We started walking to school because technically it was still school time. We got back to Carl Sandburg after about 30 min of walking and we had about 20 min left of school. “Go down to the cafeteria. We have a surprise for you!”, said all the teachers in the hallway.
I went down to the cafeteria. The surprise was ice cream; they gave us a choice of an ice cream bar or a scoop of vanilla, chocolate, or strawberry ice cream. I chose an ice cream bar. I looked around to find a spot to sit. I saw my friend Bailey siting by herself, so I went over to sit with her. We talked about our favorite classes and what we were going to do in the summer for about 15 minutes until school was over. After school was over I went to find my dad and we started getting ready for the graduation.
We went to the Fast Mart gas station, which used to be the old Road Ranger; we went there to get pops because I was thirsty after walking all day. I went to get a haircut at Great Clips outside of Wal-Mart. I hadn’t had one for a few weeks and needed to look good. I saw my friend Caleb there. He and my dad talked me into wearing a bowtie to

I got up and poured myself some milk while longing for someone to talk to. My mom and dad were at work and my lazy siblings of course had not woken up. My mind was filled with thoughts about yesterday's surprise 6th grade graduation and my stomach dropped when I thought about what was in store for me at GCA. Then I went upstairs and cuddled up with my anime plushies and mused at the greatest year of my life yet, 6th grade, I thought about science camp, Ms. White’s loving exterior, the surprise graduation we were thrown, I thought about how everyone cried as the sorrowful music played in the back and frankly I could feel myself becoming teary eyed.…

In life I have been told the quote, "It is our differences that make us the same." This quote did not have much connotation to me until I was in my sophomore year of high school. Throughout my childhood, my life has been nothing short of unique related to peers of my age. From the time I turned eight years old to now, I have seen my mother's mental illnesses in full effect such as her bi-polar episodes. I have seen an abuse of alcohol on an abnormal level, but I have always had my brother's back me through everything since my dad had moved to a different state and it was just us.…

The Lesson from My Ninth Grade Under the influence of my peers and their parents, my parents determined to send me study aboard—one of the most abrupt and forceful plans I have ever encountered. The key goal was to fix my bad habits and unawareness of what my obligation is, since I would be in a distinct environment alone. I did accept their decision, expecting my U.S. high school life to be just interesting as how is it portrayed in a typical American comedy, and all the potential problems to diminish by itself. Things went the best way I expected:…

Heartache and misfortune are inevitable as we go through life, but it is how we respond to these misfortunes that defines who we are. No one wants bad things to happen to them, in fact we do everything we can to avoid going through difficult times, but some things can not be avoided.
