Personal Narrative: From Memphis To Fort Walton Beach

Improved Essays
At the beginning of summer and wanting relaxation in the sun, what better place than Seaside, Florida to have my vacation at. I plan on driving to Memphis, where I will park my car in the secured airport parking lot for the week. The flight from Memphis to Fort Walton Beach, Florida will fit into my three thousand dollar budget perfectly (expedia.com). I will take a cab eight and a half miles to pick up my rental car where I will pay one hundred and ninety two dollars to use a car for the remainder of the week (Find Cheap Car Rentals). I will then drive to Seaside where I have already reserved a small cottage near the beach. Renting the cottage will only use seven hundred and fifty dollars of my budget (Google). The rental agency is providing …show more content…
I will buy a few groceries to take back to my cottage for breakfast and lunch to try and save some of my budget for other activities. I plan on having dinner and a few lunch meals out at restaurants that are not too expensive. I cannot wait to go on the thrilling excursions I have planned for the week. On my first full day, I plan to go deep sea fishing in the afternoon (Attractions, Tours, & Things To Do in Santa Rosa Beach---Seaside, FL). I’m so excited to go parasailing on Tuesday in Destin, a few miles north of Seaside (Panama City Parasail). On my last day, I plan to go on a banana boat ride to Fort Walton Beach and back to seaside (Attractions, Tours, & Things To Do in Santa Barbara Beach—Seaside, FL). All three of these outings will only cost me one hundred and thirty five dollars to do (Attractions) (Panama). After all of my research, my trip to Seaside, only cost me two thousand five hundred forty three dollars and twenty three cents to have a seven day six night …show more content…
I imagine my trip there would be very calm and a stress releaser compared to the chaos and hustle of a big city like Las Angeles. In LA, I feel like I would constantly be on the go and not have a lot of free time, whereas in Seaside, I would be at the beach and have all the down time I wanted while still being able to go out and do things. There are a lot of fun things to do while at the Seaside, not including the great outlet mall shopping that would be available. The food is amazing and very fresh, which I love. I have learned through all of my research that no matter your budget, you can always go on a vacation you want. As I said earlier, some people need time away to decompress while others need them just because but may not think they are able to do so because of financial stability, but you can. I really enjoyed being able to do my own research and plan my own vacations. Even though a trip to Las Angles would be tremendous, Seaside is the place for me, at least for

Chasing Wakes Summertime is one of the most dreaded seasons of the year for those who live in the desert. It is a time for the rattlesnakes, lizards, and tortoises to emerge. While these creatures flourish in the blistering temperature of 120 degrees, humans quickly deteriorate. This kind of climate creates scaly, dry skin making a person feel like their own skin is as rough as one of those reptiles. I have found being on a Sea Doo, also known as a water motorcycle, at the Colorado River is one of the best ways to get a reprieve from the debilitating heat and avoid the reptiles.…

Do I stay and be loyal to my brothers or do I leave and never look back. I had to make my choice very soon, I could have left and the pain of seeing my brothers die , or I could stay and fight for my freedom such as many men had already done. The decision I made was to stay and fight for my country because many men had gotten sick, and I was a faithful servant to my country and I wanted to do what I came to the new world to do which was achieved my freedom .…

The traces in my mind of my life in Tennessee escaped my thoughts as the salt water breeze took them away. The blankets of snow, that I once knew, turned into white grains of sand that coated the steps of every shop and the bright green blades of grass were now blue curves of water that left me in a trance with every movement. Each house by the shore was painted a different bright color and was home to a collection of beach related trinkets, including broken shells, used as decor, and sand filled jars which were left by past visitors. A hammock was hung on the top story which became my safe haven of fresh air and solitude. Each morning I swung to the slow, crashing of the waves as the sun began to rise.…

Each year, a pilgrimage to the Florida or Alabama gulf coast is a highly anticipated and enjoyed event for my family. In the beginning, it was just my wife and I. Man oh man, these trips were some of the most relaxing times that I can remember. Now, our yearly “beach fest” includes our two children, Kaylee and Garrett. While this is still a wonderful family event, I no longer use the phrase “relaxing”. Elbert Hubbard once said, “No man needs a vacation so much as the man who just had one”.…
