Personal Narrative: Fripp Island

Improved Essays
Fripp Island is a very small island off the coast of South Carolina and myself and my family have been vacationing there since the summer I was going to be in third grade. We went with just my family. My mom, dad, and three sisters Allison, Stephanie, and Meg. I did not know what to expect because I have never been there before but my mom did show us some pictures of the island and pictures of the house we would be staying at for the week. It all started off with the car ride there. It was about a 10 hour drive and it was not fun at all being in the car for that long with all my sisters multiple arguments broke out and that 10 hours felt like 10 days. Then the next day came along and we were all way to burnt so we decided to not go to the beach or pool. We ended up going of the island to a little town called Beaufort that was about 15 minutes away. When we were there we just walked around and looked at all the stores and got lunch. The restaurant was terrible because it was a seafood restaurant and I never tried seafood but I convinced myself I didn't like it so I had to wait till we got back to the house to eat. Later that night me and my dad went fishing that was definitely the highlight of the trip because I caught a shark but I was a little disappointed when my dad wouldn't let me keep it. The rest of the week we went to the beach in the early afternoon and then we would head over to the pool after that. The pool was great it had a huge water slide and a rock bridge that you could jump off . Unfortunately it was the last day. So we went to the beach. Somehow my sister’s convinced me to let them bury me in the

No a one of them knowing what they were about to get their self into.…

As the daughter of parents who love to travel, I’ve had the pleasure of travelling across Canada and America as well as a few other countries from a young age. I have visited the loud and bustling streets of Tokyo and the ethereal gardens in Kyoto, stood on the edge of the Grand Canyon, walked the strip in Las Vegas, and watch the sun set over the Atlantic Ocean in Martha’s Vineyard. Although I should be able to look back on a childhood filled with events and memories from trips, I find it difficult to recall most vacations without a visual prompt. When I flip through old family photo albums, I don’t recall much more than what is shown in their pages. The outdated clothing, the people, and the locations are seen in the images, and therefore…

If you ask me if I only have a once-in-a-lifetime chance to go aboard, where I will choose to go? I will answer without any hesitation, "the Antarctic." Compare to others places, going to the Antarctic is a feeling of adventure or expedition because it is widely described as the last true wilderness on earth. The Antarctica is the highest, driest, coldest but also the remotest, quietest, purest land on the planet so that I want to feel how cold and pure it is. And the most attracts me is that no human population is native to the Antarctica, but the only residents are animals.…
