“The First Shot Fired” It all started when I went to my nephew’s birthday party at a gun club when I was 12. my nephew’s grandpa told me to bring my shotgun, so I did and when we got there he told us that he owned this gun club. After we were done eating and opening presents he told me “get your shotgun, we’re gonna see how good you are.” When I got my shotgun we went up on to the wobble stand he told me to say pull when i’m ready.…
I am so glad I had the priveledge to see the movie, War Room, with my Life Group. I have to admit, since applying Miss Clara's war room, my quality of prayer has greatly improve. I not only know who and what I am praying for, but I actual have strategic pray life that makes sense; that I can follow and easily adjust as God directs me because I can see Him in my plans more clearer. My target prayers go up on my bedroom wall. And I immediately receive scriptures from the Holy Spirit to use in my prayers.…
My marble (at 0 meters) was experiencing no motion. Then, as soon as a force was acting upon it to move the marble, it started to move very fast past 0.5 meters. Then, from 0.5 meters to 1.0 meter, the marble was moving almost as fast as it was in the beginning, but losing a little bit of its overall speed. Then, from 1.0 to 1.5 meters, the marble was slowing down a little bit, so it wasn't as fast as before. Then, from 1.5 meters to 2.0 meters, the marble was experiencing an obvious change in speed, and was slowing down much faster than before.…
The Ultimate Sport Pow! The disc smacked me right in the lip while and everyone cheered. Ultimate Frisbee began for me in middle school. Every recess, my friends and I would run outside with an old disc as fast as we could to play.…
I never thought that I would ever end up being a Warrior Wrestler at Henry Sibley High School. It all started with one of my brothers wrestling for the High School. His head coach was close with my brother so he also knew me. He was and still is an social studies teacher at Heritage Middle school which is connected in the School district of 197. Every morning at Heritage he would see me and always call me by my brothers name and always bug me about wrestling and trying out for it.…
The violence on the rockpile seems to be very straightforward, “They fought on the rockpile. Sure footed, dangerous, and reckless,…
Today My wagon train and I are leaving Ft. Kearny in search of Courthouse Rock, but first we have reach the California crossing and cross the south platte river. The river is too wide to be bridged and to shallow for a ferry so we have to cross it by using the sandbars. When we got in the water one of the children from another wagon almost drowned because of the current. It took us 30 minutes to get from one end of the river to the other.…
“The Most Dangerous Game” narrative centers around about 3 things: hunting, Rainsford, and his attempt to stay alive. There are two people, Rainsford and Whitney, that are on a yacht and they are hunters. They pass an island and Whitney tells Rainsford that it is a dangerous place. I am about to enter my 3rd battle. The skunk told our regiment that we should be engaged in a battle sometime tomorrow. Some of the fresh fish that were recruited last week got the quick step and won't be fighting. All that is left to eat is goobers and sheet iron crackers. It doesn’t settle well in the bread basket.…
This chapter reminded me of a vacation that my family and I took to the Grand Canyon when I was in middle school. On this particular vacation, I had gotten my hands on one of those books that you just can’t put down. I quickly learned the art of walking and reading at the same time. I was good at avoiding collisions with other people. Correction: other people were good at avoiding collisions with me.…
Hockey. I live hockey. I will always give anything to be on the ice. I do everything to live on the ice. I’m the type of kid who would abandon vacations and parties to go play hockey.…
Buddy and Bubbles One memorable experience when I went to go feed my bunnies. It turned into a nightmare I will never forget. I will tell you all about it. We had 5 bunnies, Batman, Buddy, Bubbles, Mario and Dase and a mom named Oreo, and a dad named Spartacus. My uncle asked us to dog sit his dog named Bandit.…
The day on the front was like no other, it was peaceful, dreamlike. All the airplanes had ceased fire, the tanks were no longer being operated. It was so hard to believe that all of a sudden everything had changed. My no-good rifle had malfunctioned and shot me in the leg. I was taken to a hospital next to a local train station; the hospital was dark, gloomy, and had a prominent stench of death.…
On October, 20th our grade slept in cardboard boxes for one whole day! Basically, we wanted to feel like how homeless people feel like everyday. Before the night we slept in cardboard boxes we built our homes out of cardboard. My group consists of Cailin, Sarah, Katie, and Charlotte but since Katie, Cailin, and Sarah could not attend Charlotte and I were the ones who were gonna sleep in our house. My group did not have enough time building our house.…
Courage; defined as the ability to do something that may be frightening to others or, having strength in the face of pain or grief. When most people hear the word courage their mind might jump to the military or law enforcement, not me. I did not physically witness this incident of courage, for I was inborn, but I have heard the stories. It all began on the cold, winter day of February 27, 1998.…
