Flipping into the season Amiya Gonzales 1st hour

As I stood at the end of the floor with my hands sweating and my body shaking telling myself I could do it I was thinking of the last time I went for my back tuck and hurting my back.

It was the 1st day back of the season I just got done with level 6 practice and now was in level 7 I cross compete with 2 teams. We were missing 2 flyers so the 1st day was more of a tumbling day. We were working on roundoff back tucks and standing tucks. The majority of my team needed help on roundoff back handspring back tuck or just roundoff back tuck, so we made a station where you had to run do a roundoff and then tuck and land on your back on the mat. Then you would go ever to the spring board and get spotted jumping off the springboard and doing your tuck and then keep going in the rotation.

She spotted me before and I feel on my knees but I had to remember in my head that my back tuck has gotten a lot better and my tumbling is stronger now. I ran into my round off and then went for my tuck and landed it! I was so surprised that I could do it I was happy. My coach Ann recorded it and gave me a hug because it was another tuck for level 6 and 7. Next my sister Ally and our friend Jayden came to see it because they were surprised too. Jayden recorded the video and then I had to call my mom for her to come in the gym and see it so she did when she got there I was kinda tired so my tuck wasn't as high as it was before so I also showed her the video and she was so proud of

Now since we had three boys, Chris had to be in the center. It was a week until Nationals and I had to learn a new routine. I was moved to the back, had the shakiest stunts, and worst of all, I had to watch someone else shine during a routine that was choreographed for me. There was nothing I could do, so I practiced my new parts every night and learned them like the back of my hand.…

I spent countless hours in a sauna with a plastic suit, ran so many miles on my treadmill, not even to mention all the hours we spend in practice. At the end of the year I got second place at my district and qualified for the state tournament. I went into the state tournament not expecting to place, but had dreamed of placing at this tournament since I started wrestling. I lost my first match, then wrestled back and strung together two consecutive wins to place 8th. Although, I wasn’t a state champ, I accomplished one of my lifetime goals.…

This warm Friday afternoon, I was outside with my brother and my brother and I were flipping on the trampoline. My brother “JJ” told me to do a backflip and I said,” I can’t do a backflip but I will try” so when I got ready to flip I was shaking and screaming in my head because I was scared that I was going to break a bone or fly off the trampoline. JJ went in the house five minutes later and said, “If you don’t flip you not coming back on the house” and I said, “I have to go in the house so that I can practice on the bed”.…

I noticed this position for teaching apprenticeship and I couldn't wait to jump at this opportunity. Year Up, being a place where I really learned about work and self improvement, is a place that I hold close to me. I believe in Gerald's mission to reach out to the impoverished and show them the tools they need in order to take advantage of the opportunities that are out there for them. As a firm believer that our lives are in our own hands and that we will make of them what we will, I also understand that without the tools and opportunity, who can do anything?…

I have saved the lives of at least 6 people in my life, here the story. I was delivering milk into a liquor store and saw the street apt windows ,2nd floor, implode. I ran upstairs and found a bunch of spt dwellers standing in the hallway with the manage frantically saying that she couldn\'t get into the room because she couldn\'t open the locked from the inside door.. I had no room to move so I said, \"stand back I\'m going to break the door down\" As I did so, I created what I believe is called a backdraft, or a flash up. Just as I got inside I stumbled over the elderly man in the room laying in front of the door.…

We ended the season with a loss to Derby in the championship game, it was a dumb game but we should of won. Earlier that year we beat Derby both times and we destroyed them both times. We played Hutchinson and killed them so bad we beat them by like 30 points. We kill or beat all the other teams so bad like they were gonna die after we were done playing with them.…
