Personal Narrative-Five Years Later On The Dreaded Island

Improved Essays
5 Years Later on the Dreaded Island It has been five years since I have killed the man who killed others as a ‘sport’. I got a type of pleasure seeing that man die in pain. I went to sleep in that giant bed with a feeling of satisfaction towards myself. That following morning, as I was eating a wonderful breakfast of eggs and porridge, I heard a low, muffled sound of some sort. As curious as I am, I walked down the steps and the noise became louder, and louder. The voice rang, “Help us! Help!”
I opened the old, wooden, smelly door and saw rows and rows of people lying on old, gross bunk beds. There had to be at least 200 people down in this huge room! I think Zaroff lied a bit when he said he kept a ‘few’ people. I did not even get a thanks

I was getting to know their names, homes, and how they got here. They all were part of a group, CPPH3. They were sent by the Russian army to kill Zaroff, but they were told to still remain undercover. These men’s names were Matthew, Logan, Owen, Phillip, and Luke. I let them know that I had already done the dirty deed for them, and specifically the night before. It is now five years later. These men still live with me in this house of no name. We will be good on supplies for about 45 more years. Looking at Zaroff’s food supply, you would think he was going to live forever. Every now and then I go look out the main window just to enjoy the beauty of this dreaded island. All at once I saw something swiftly move through the bushes. “Matthew, Logan, Owen, Phillip, and Luke.! Come here at this moment something strange is going on!” I forgot that Matthew and Logan had gone out on a run and Owen, Phillip, and Luke were still sleeping. I remained looking out the window as I saw this ‘creature’ move around the house, ending up directly in front of the house. I swiftly walked to front door and opened the door. I saw a man holding a gun to Logan’s head. That man looked exactly like

“Here we are,” I thought to myself as my parents and I pulled up to a big oak tree in our old, puke colored Subaru. The massive tree overlooked the Boston Harbor and the enormous cruise boats on it. Under the oak stood an assortment of kids and instructors from all over the world. No a one of them knowing what they were about to get their self into.…

The civil rights activist Maya Angelou once said, “A bird doesn’t sing because it has an answer, it sings because it has a song.” Often times, people listen to that song without further knowledge on what it may truly mean and fail to take the time to investigate the credibility of that bird. Along with this, us humans sometimes act as parrots, simply imitating any idiotic utterance that is conceived. In the speculative fiction book Lord of the Flies by William Golding, the episode “The Monsters are Due on Maple Street” from Rod Serling’s television anthology The Twilight Zone, and the episode “Once Bitten” from the Nickelodeon series SpongeBob SquarePants, it is clearly demonstrated that the circulation of unverified ideas can bring forth great…

As I mentioned in the previous assignment, I want to increase my baseline 500 steps each week so that by the end of the semester I am recording 10,000 steps which is in the active range. I will continue walking around the property at work and stepping in place whenever I possibly can. I will stick to walking to the mailbox which is two blocks from home as opposed to driving up to it on my way home. If I have days where I am tired I will just give myself another pep talk. I have a pretty good support system thus far so I will lean on them if pushing myself on my own does not cut it.…

I couldn't agree more, sometimes I think to myself as well if I have any repressed memories that impact my personality. I never used to be so compulsive or expressive, but I think that has to do with a defense mechanism of mine. I know I have some repressed memories that have molded my personality to be more defensive at times, although I don't like that myself, I do feel it is a defense mechanism to be guarded for protection. I honestly did the same thing with the denial mechanism with my best friend during high school. I was in denial because of my friends passing just wasn't acceptable, and when people approached or confronted me, I pretended as though he was on a long vacation.…

The next day, my legs were tired but that didn’t prevent me from having an enjoyable day. First we went to the Staten Island Ferry where we rode a ferry past the Statue of Liberty. The ferry was full of people but there were three floors to fit everyone on. It also moved surprisingly fast for such a sizeable boat. The next site on the agenda was to visit Grand Central Station, a rapidly fast train station that carries people from all over the country to and from New York.…

Pete Norris, the thirty-three year old Internet Security consultant, rapist and multiple murderer, was restless. As he had been for the past month, since the death of Analise Helm. She'd been His fifth victim, but very different from the rest. Ms Helm, he'd met on the dark net, and she'd offered him an opportunity that he'd never before contemplated, the offer of joining him in his spree, not, as she may have thought, as a partner, but to Pete, as a witness. A live human being, to be there as he raped and tortured his victims before he ended their lives, someone to watch as he perpetrated his acts, and caused them to beg, cry and crawl, and scream for mercy.…

There’s a little slice of Heaven in Marshall, Texas, where the sun shines through the pines and the sound of cicadas serenade you throughout your afternoon and the lake shines like a plate of polished silver in the early morning sun. When I first came to Camp Fern, I was on my own. Everyone else had known each other for at least two years, so I was the odd one out. In my cabin there was the usual sort. There was the popular one, the attention seeker, the joker, and the one you love to hate.…

As a child growing up in Rhode Island, the smallest state in the Union, the idea of a vast planet brimming with civilization and culture was more like something out of a fairy tale than it was reality. So, when my father announced that we would be leaving the country to go to Scotland, the home of his and my ancestors, my world began to expand at a rapid pace. This trip could not have been timed more perfectly. The summer of 2007 marked the end of fourth grade, my first year at Saint Mary Academy Bay View.…
