Hundreds of millions of immigrants make up the foundation of America, thus building this great and powerful nation that resembles a melting pot where various ethnic groups become one. Yet, as a first generation Chinese-American, I still feel like an outsider surrounded by diversity. I was born and raised in the capital of Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, where I memorize the roads like the crevices on the back of my hand. However, every time I step through the door of my house, I feel like I have been placed in foreign territory and must constantly adapt to meet the standards.
