Improved Essays
When I got out of bed my heart was pounding like there was no tomorrow. Then I heard my dad say those 4 words “First day at Riverside.” I felt like running out the house and taking his car with me. And my sister “Brianna” kept on teasing me that it was going to be the worst day of my life. She really gets on my last nerves. Then finally, my dad and I were in the car. First my dad went to the wrong school and when I walked in there I was about to run back to the car and take off. After my dad and I reached the right school I was scared to the bone.

When I got to my new classroom I was so scared it looked like I was about to turn pale and white at the same time. I felt like I wanted to run back to my old school. Then my dad made the worst

All the blood my heart was pumping it was going directly my ears and during that moment, I did not know what to expect and all I could think was about how to make it through this day. I never asked for any of this. I left friends and my family behind to start a new life, an opportunity for education that I did not have in my hometown of Bani in the Dominican Republic. I was still in shock, preparing myself mentally while my sister put her coat on before getting on the bus. When we arrived in William H. I was anxiously waiting in third base for the batter to approach the plate and smack the yarn covered ball just enough for me to make it to the home plate. As the sun hits my face I see the pitcher retract his right arm getting ready to throw it. As I see the ball leave the pitcher’s hand, I breathed in the humid air, making preparations to sprint as fast as I could and make it to the home plate. Assignment #3 I ended up carrying out my experiment in three different location. Initially, the plan was to go to the Marriott Library a bit later at night (9-10 PM), find people sitting by themselves with plenty of empty tables/seats surrounding them, sit right next to them, and stare periodically. I decided not to speak until spoken to first. I figured that this would be a bit off putting to most people since they’d realize that there are plenty of open tables and seats around that I could take.…
