Personal Narrative: Finding Aliens

Decent Essays
By discovering something you’ve been wanting to since you were a kid, in this case proving aliens are real, you’ve been dreaming about this for as long as you can remember but this may result in losing your human life, is it really worth it?

Maybe? It depends, in this situation if I personally was very passionate about discovering aliens or anything in that matter I would certainly risk all I’ve got, but be smart about it. I believe that if you are very passionate about that one thing then it is worth a “human life” but that is the only one you’ve got so I’d choose wisely and carefully. Ellie being a woman who has been so passionate about talking and finding aliens ever since she was young and she gets this opportunity to meet these so called “Vegans” I would definitely do everything I could to find and talk to these vegans even if it did result in the last thing I’d ever do. I hold this opinion because it’s not like you get this kind of opportunity everyday and you could just say “oh I’ll just catch the next wormhole” because there may not be another one, if you’ve been wanting this for as long as you could remember why would you give up such an amazing opportunity, it’s like the universe gave you a sign and you’re just going to ignore it.

My point is if you are extremely passionate about anything (in this case aliens) then go ahead and discover every little detail about it, after all this is your life. Although while loosing your “human life” you gain the best feeling in the

Do you think we can sacrifice few persons to make others happier? I don’t think so. Many people might say yes to this question because no one thinks that you or your family will be the few persons to be sacrificed and logically, help thousands of people by sacrificing few people might sound nice for human beings. However, scientists may make poor decisions because of their passion for discovery and we cannot forget about the respect for fundamental human rights. In the book The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks written by Rebecca Skloot, she writes about experiments back in the mid-twentieth century when she says, “They recruited hundreds of African-American men with syphilis, then watched them die slow, painful, and preventable deaths, even…

I believe that my personal background, and my success despite the adversity that I have faced is an essential part of who I am. The first of my struggles came from being born to two teenage parents without at least a high school education, and although my mother went on to get a GED and to college my father did not. Many people in my family had issues with substance abuse and addictions including my father. Although, I was raised by my mother and grandmother, my father’s actions and behaviors negatively impacted my life. Imagine having the choice of life or death left in your hands alone. On one end, there is a rat, who is energetically running to find a hiding spot from the broom sweeping across the floor. On the other end, there is a stay-at-home mom, jumped up on the table, violently stabbing at the rat in attempts to scare it away from her. One of them will die. Most people would choose to save the stay-at-home mother with three children and not have a guilty thought cross their mind.…

I believe there is a lot to be learned through exploring our universe but I am not in favor of colonizing other planets. I believe that exploring our universe with unmanned spacecraft will bring us a wealth of information that can aid us in understanding the world we live on. Sending man into space was a great adventure and the transmission and photographic technology available in the 60s and 70s when the space race was at its apex was not as robust which prevented us from seeing everything there was to see and learn in outer space or on other planets. That has changed considerably in the past 20 years. We can now send cameras into space that can transmit data that would have taken us years to analyze and understand in the early years…
