“She just sits there, staring at the wall. Sometimes she blinks and awareness flickers in her eyes as she sits up, but then it disappears and she sinks back into her corner.”
“What does she do all day?”
“Strokes a scrap of velvet. Screams, Cries. Thinks. Stares.”
“What does she think about?”
“Let’s ask her, if you’re so interested.”
The two men walk into Jenna’s room, where she sits huddled in the corner, rocking back and forth.
“Jenna, what do you think about all day?”
She looks up at him, sad emptiness in her eyes.
“I don’t know. I go somewhere, I think.” She says, thoughtful, but at the same time, so empty. “It’s safe there. Much better than here. No one can find me. There’s no loud noises, no harsh lights, no pain, no memories. Just peace and bliss.” Jenna

I take out my notepad and paper and wrote “Malitia.”
Reading the words, Renee exhaled through her teeth.
“What?” I wrote, confused.

“Malitia is evil.” She said shortly, searching for a way out of the elevator.
“No it isn’t.” I wrote angrily.
“Iris, they tricked you.” Renee said kindly, sadly. “Malitia hurts people.”
“I DON’T HURT PEOPLE!!” I wrote, wishing I could scream it.
“You can’t make me go with you.” She said, crossing her arms.
I glared at her.
“Watch me.” I wrote, grabbing her arm and teleporting to Malitia.

I dropped Renee and she staggered, disoriented.
“How did you…” She started.
Renee stopped talking and stared open mouthed at Malitia. I smiled proudly. She whirled around to face me.
“You’re their Protector.” She whispered. “My god, I thought they stopped doing that after Jenna.”
“Who’s Jenna?” I asked.
“The girl who came before you. I heard she killed my friend Connor and had a mental breakdown.” Renee said.
“Never heard of her.” I wrote.
“Perhaps you’ll cross paths soon.” She sighed. “Though I heard that Protectors never see each other.”
“Maybe I’ll bend the rules a bit and see this girl. Come on.” I wrote, walking inside. Renee followed

There are three types of identity crisis: a temporary change of identity; no change at all, and a permanent change that isn’t reverted. Looking at the classic novels An Inspector Calls by J.B Priestly and Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, we can see these are present in their characters. Of Mice and Men was first published in 1937, it is a poignant tale of a remarkable friendship between two peripatetic workers in the Great Depression years of 1930’s America. George is a small hardworking man and Lennie is his large, primitive friend; they both share a dream for land of their own; but when they find work on a California’s Salinas Valley, the dream is pushed to the utmost limit. An Inspector Calls was first published in 1992 by Tim Bezant;…

It was an early autumn morning on farmer Henry's magnificent farm. I was quietly sitting on the old wooden, barn door when I heard my brother, Joshua, saying “Robyn, is the farmer coming yet?” As I looked around the farmer was nowhere to be seen, so I simply replied with “not yet, he is probably still sleeping.” I heard a groan coming from inside the barn and then a loud thud. Joshua had obviously fallen off his large bed of hay.…
