About a week had passed since I'd been working with Vic. It was the following Thursday.

I walked into Mrs. Weighs classroom that we were still using. "Hi." I said, smiling. Vic was seated at the desk, looking over papers and reaching for the printer.

"Hey Kellin." He smiled back.

I walked over to his desk, handing him the math sheets that I worked on over the course of the last two nights. "Here are those math sheets." I said.

He nodded, taking the sheets from me and skimming the paper.

"What are we doing today?" I asked, a wide grin on my face.

"Found poems." Vic stated. I obviously looked at him like he was crazy because I honestly had no idea what a found poem was. Vic noticed my confusion and decided to explain further, "You take

And though I have no choice about the one, at least I can choose about the other. I'm leaving you our family ring because you have as much right to it as I do. I'm writing this watching the sun come up. You're asleep, dreams moving behind your restless eyelids. I wish I knew what you were thinking. I wish I could slip into your head and see the world the way you do. I wish I could see myself the way you do. But maybe I dont want to see that. Maybe it would make me feel even more than I already do that I'm perpetuating some kind of Great Lie on you, and I couldn't stand that. I belong to you. You could do anything you wanted with me and I would let you. You could ask anything of me and I'd break myself trying to make you happy. My heart tells me this is the best and greatest feeling I have ever had. But my mind knows the difference between wanting what you can't have and wanting what you shouldn't want. And I shouldn't want you. All night I've watched you sleeping, watched the moonlight come and go, casting its shadows across your face in black and white. I've never seen anything more beautiful. I think of the life we could have had if things were different, a life where this night is not a singular event, separate from everything else that's real, but every night. But things aren't different, and I can't look at you without feeling like I've tricked you into loving me. The truth no one is willing to say out loud is that no one has a shot against Valentine but me. I can get close to him like no one else can. I can pretend I want to join him and he'll believe me, up until that last moment where I end it all, one way or another. I have something of Sebastian's; I can track him to where my father's hiding, and that's what I'm going to do. So I lied to you last night. I said I just wanted one night with you. But I

Despite his sudden awe at her presence, Sophie's reluctant demeanor wasn't lost on Kevin. It was discouraging, but he gave a deep breath (one he realized, too late, was probably audible) and waited as she came closer, trying not to stare too blatantly at her shapely legs as they made her skirt swish like a curtain hiding restless performers backstage. He unbuttoned the top button of his plaid flannel shirt and another breath escaped. As she explained her timid goal for the sessions, it did nothing for Kevin's discouragement, and there was even a bit of resentment in there, too. She was clearly just trying to coast by, and had no intention of paying him the attention he was giving her.…

Mirabella POV “Turn that light off!” I scream at my little brother Mason, while covering my head with my pillow. “Mom says to get your butt out bed now or else she will come up here and kick it for you,” he screeches like the little banshee he is and runs out of the room. I groan in disgust and let myself fall out of bed onto the floor, my muscles not bothering to cooperate. But I digress and continue getting ready for the day.…

It had been a few weeks since your parents died in a tragic plane crash, though you didn’t feel all that sad. Of course, you were slightly upset, but it wasn’t that bad. Your parents had never really built an emotional bond with you. They were more like dictators, they forced you to be the three P’s: posh, proper, and polite. When you wanted to play outside with the other kids, they shook their head in distaste, your mother telling you that’s not what ladies do.…

Song Memoir "I got a problem and I don't know what to do about it" I had not heard this song in the longest of times and when I heard it, I felt like a wave of emotion was rushing onto me. It was Ne-Yo’s best single All Because of You. It had been stuck in my head for a long time and now I was finally hearing it again. I savored every moment I had in this song because as it played on and Ne-Yo transitioned from rap to soulful vocals it emanated powerful emotion.…

An air conditioned breeze caught me as I crossed the threshold into Ms. Stweed’s gray classroom. Just as expected, Ms. Stweed was stalwartly perched on her desk seat, licking her fingers, grading papers. “You’re late, Mr. Rider,” came Ms. Stweed’s pinched voice, without so much of a glance away from her Gradebook. I looked at my watch. It was four minutes past the time the bell rang.…
