“Yeah, a dust cloud formed when the asteroid hit, rendering one of my eyes useless,” Amanda explains. Now I climb out of my bunker and take a look outside. All I see is the vast emptiness and the darkness. The flashlight is the only form of light I can clearly see. “Can we go find one of my friends,” I ask.
“I don’t know. A lot of the bunkers are gone on the east side of town are gone and I’m pretty sure everyone there is dead too,” Bruce says, “That means if your pal is there, then we oughta get goin.” “Yeah he’s pretty close to there but more to the north,” I reply, “He’s only about a five minute walk from here.”

Bruno is ahead and points out the hard packed dirt with some specialized protective coating, like all other bunkers. “Here hurry up. The more people the better.” We all knock in

I just got done with my shift to protect Camp Half-Blood feeling very tired and stressed. With the camp’s protection being down and most of the campers going back to their families for the summer, this meant that there were very few of us to guard our safe haven. Not to mention I was still recovering from my broken ankle. I decided to take a walk down to the beach near the camp. Lately, I’ve found the sound of crashing waves, wind brushing through my hair, and the slight smell of salt hitting my face very soothing ever since I had met my best friend, Percy Jackson.…
