"So you really want to know how I got here? Ok."

Slowly I wiped my glasses against my shirt, 3 rotations for each lens. The rain battered against the windows of the diner I had just entered; I trodged to the far right corner and sat in an empty booth. I took of my boots and slapped them against the wall three times in a futile attempt to shake loose some of the water; placing down my boots I opened my bag and removed a dry pair of socks, and put them on my feet. After my routine had been completed I again fell into my thoughts, only occasionally drawn away from them by the tapping of my own fingers against the glass table and the chatter of other customers. Hours went be like this before a waitress tapped me on my shoulder. "Sir, you okay?"

I deserved that though didn't I, how couldn't I notice him ordering; well now any dream of him leaving soon died. "Oh, well where is my coffee?" I asked, my nerves finnaly drawing out of their hiding place, finnaly allowing me out of that shakey shell of a mind. "Here it is sir, had to put down the plates." God I was missing everything but who wouldn't be. "Thank you, can I get some creamer." "It's on the table sir." she responded voice full tired and annoyed. "Good, thank you." and that was that. I wan't hungry but I felt compelled to eat. I oppened three creamers, let them slosh out into my coffee. After mixing them in I quickly devoured my burger, well I guess I was hungry or maybe that was just my nerves still teasing me. Within five minutes my meal was gone. He was still sitting at the table, a mix of concern and hunger sat on his wrinkled face. His hair gray and stringy, his hands thin, caloused. He'd been around. Maybe he could solve this for me, but that I didn't know what I do now. Before I could ponder this more though I felt my stomach turn, my food was coming up. Maybe it was the speed or the mix of the coffee and a greasy burger, maybe it was destiny. I jumped to my feet and ran to the rest room. Slamming through the door and falling over a toilet I let my guts out. The seat and floor covered in half digested beef soaked in coffee. I leaned against the wall and slid on to my ass. Exhaustion flooded over me, my mind had cleared it self with my stomach, just going with the crowd I guess. After a couple minutes sitting in my vomit he came in, the grimy old fucking

Wiping my tears from my face, I released how silent the house was, the bathroom illuminated with an eerie glow, a feeling of dread settled itself at the pit of my stomach, my self-loathing and rage replaced by fear. The reticence only served to accentuate my feeling of vulnerability. A wave of nausea hit me again, staggering to my feet, I hobbled to the phone. The police had to know about Ariels death before the killer struck again, I let out a weak laugh, trying to mask my growing trepidation, a tinge of desperation laced my voice as I narrated the situation, my vulnerability grew by the second. A second wave of nausea hit me, a deluge of blood and vomit disemboguing from my mouth, a sickly amalgam of blood and chunks of vomit caking my legs and the floor around me.…

I was sure I looked like a mess from travelling so long anyways. When the keeper came to my table I ordered the best home-cooked meal that he could give me. The food that arrived at my table did not disappoint, sausages, potatoes, sauerkraut, and bread all completely filled me while I paid for my dinner and for one night’s room. Completely comatose from all the food that I had eaten, I did not realize that the boy who was sitting next to me at the table had followed me up to my room, I also did not realize that I had not locked the door in my rush to fall…

I'm fine... I just don't know why I have a spoon." We both looked at my beverage that arrived at the table in a bowl accompanied by a utensil. Slight confusion arose from both of us, as I personally held the image from the menu of the beverage in my mind and compared it to my current view. Trailing away, our conversation started, where small talk easily emerged, and I was welcomed from the start to ask my "million" questions and rambling.…
