I wake up, coughing and spitting up water. My body is shivering and soaking wet. I open my eyes and sit up. My vision is blurred from the pouring rain. I’m not where I fell asleep, that’s for sure. I look around. Im laying on a bunch of rubble and ashes. Maybe if I walk a for a little while, I’ll find something. I stand up. Looking around, I cannot find anything in sight. I’m not sure if i’d see anything anyways. Picking a random direction, I start walking. Hopefully, i’ll come across a standing building, one that hasn’t been destroyed.
I’ve been walking for what seems like hours. All of a sudden, I no longer feel the ground beneath me. My body smashes onto the ground.

I back up and look in the direction that the yell came from. I see a figure emerging from a big mound of rubble. He’s holding what looks like a flashlight. He keeps coming towards me. “Help! I’m stuck in the hole!” I shout and wave my arms above my head, hoping to catch his attention. He hands the light to another person, I think. He uses the ladder, that is two feet away from me and that I could've gotten out from, and grabs my arm harshly. He yanks me up the ladder and shoves me toward the mound, that I now realize is his house. I wonder if he lives with anyone else? Pushing me in the house, he closes the ‘door’. It’s a broken off car door. In the house, there are four other people. A woman, a young girl, and an elderly man. They stopped their conversation when they see …show more content…
Help! I'm trapped in here! Help!” I cry. I eventually give up, nobody will come to save me. What if I break the door? I feel around for something to smash the door with. Something big and sharp poked my hand and I grabbed it. Banging on the door with it, I hoped it would work, and I could escape. With one last hit, I broke a hole it it big enough that I could reach the door handle and unlock the door. After I unlocked the door, I opened it and walked up the slanted hallway. I found the little girl crouching behind Eleanor's leg. Eleanor look confused, and slightly afraid. I pass them and their too confused to notice
